No time to waste

When we saw Assassin's Creed Syndicate take center stage for Ubisoft's E3 2015 conference, we thought its cinematic trailer was a bloody good show, but we asked ourselves, "Where's the gameplay?" Well, it seems Ubisoft sneakily left that for the more observant to find on its YouTube channel with a succinct four minute video highlighting this entry's biggest changes and new features.

We follow our protagonist Jacob Frye as he amasses a group of people to fight for him against a Templar named Strain. We see a brief look at the more close-up, hand-to-hand combat before Jacob bolts off in a horse carriage in pursuit of the fleeing Strain. After getting in quite the, er, carriage battle with Strain's cronies, the Assassin uses his new rope launcher to zipline onto a train that the Templar is escaping in, where Jacob uses his unique cane equipped with a hidden blade to dispatch of the rest of Strain's men and then the man himself.

We think the greater number of options to get around while assassinating targets might just be an edge Syndicate needs to liven up this annualised series. Were you impressed by the traversal and new ways to fight Templars, or should Assassin's Creed just give it a rest for a bit?
