The only bit of media that we've had for Cyberpunk 2077 was a brilliant CG trailer, and that first appeared all the way back in January 2013. With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's recent release, it's clear that Polish developer CD Projekt Red has put the project on hold, but could that mean we're going to finally see more of it in the near future?
Probably not, according to CD Projekt Red's CEO, Adam Kicinski. "We hope and we are certain that Cyberpunk has even bigger commercial potential [than The Witcher 3]. It is too early to talk about it, though. This year, and the next one will be the years of the Witcher," he said.
Good news for fans of Geralt, then, but if you were somehow still carrying hype for Cyberpunk 2077, you're bound to feel a bit deflated right now. In any case, cheer yourself up with the title's aforementioned three-year-old CG trailer, which we've embedded below for your pleasure. It's still pretty good, isn't it?

i was totally hyped for this, but im fine with them taking time on it. after playing the witcher for a bit it only made me more excited for cyberpunk. its going to be the coolest game ever......besides silent hills of coarse.... .......stupid &^%$@#* kanomi
"Its too early to talk about it though" Yeah? Well it wasnt too early to tease us with that trailer 2 yrs ago.
@3Above That's a very good point - shouldn't have shown it to begin with. However, I think we have to assume that at some point during The Witcher 3's development, they were forced to concentrate on that one game rather than split the team. That'd at least explain why there's been nothing since, although you'd still think that they would have saw that coming.
@ShogunRok. Yes, clearly The Witcher 3 demanded more resources with the long delay and rightfully So. Better to concentrate on one game and make it good than to follow the SE model and end up with a Versus 13 type of situation.
@3Above True enough, I suppose a lot of studios have found that out the hard way.
@Gmork___ But Silent Hills is dead....
I agree let them take their time... If what they have done with the Witcher 3 says anything, it's gonna to be a awesome game!
@Swiket though i really like certain games in the fantasy realm i find it SO overused and cliche and i would be WAAAAYYYY more into a grimy cyber punk dystopia.i just hope they allow us to create our own character.
I'm hoping its formula is like in the Witcher games, a cutscene everytime you talk to somebody. I know cutscenes aren't everybody's cup of tea but the facial animations and expressions are fantastic.
It's actually something I missed from the latest Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.
