Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is one of the surprise releases of 2015 so far, serving up a slice of survival horror that's both spooky and self-aware. With the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions already wrapped up, though, we had been starting to ponder where the promised PlayStation Vita edition had got to; fortunately, SCEA's Gio Corsi has provided a brief PlayStation Blog update.
The scare-a-thon will shuffle onto Sony's handheld format this summer, with Canadian developer Frima Studio handling the heavy lifting. It'll launch with all four episodes, as well as the excellent Raid Mode – but online co-op will be implemented post-release. "This is so that we can get the full game into your hands that much sooner," the Third-Party Production's director said.
As for portable specific features, the game will boast gyroscopic targeting, which has proven an enjoyable option in the likes of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. If the port's good, we reckon that this should be a welcome addition to the Vita's library – but the framerate wasn't perfect on the PS4, so the jury's still out. Fingers crossed, eh?

Please don't suck
...
Borderlands 2 - Part Two. All far too similar.
Yeah I have a feeling this won't sell so good since a lot of people already got their mitts on it on other systems, the vita needs a little more to bring people in at this point. Throw in an episode with Evgeny before the island fell apart.
Frima, huh? Can't say I expected them to be working on this.
This should make Vita owners happy.
@Tasuki yup, hopefully more developers jump In now.
Why would more developers jump in outside of indies?, it's still selling very poorly in both the EU and NA. Remember, this title is being published by Sony........otherwise, I don't think Capcom would have batted an eye.
Don't know if I'll double dip. Wait a minute, will it be cross-buy?
@Punished_Boss_84 Really?
@themcnoisy It would be nice but like @sub12 said due to poor sales I don't see to many developers jumping to Vita unless it's a straight port.
This makes me happy. Ps vita is my main console now.
I'm buying it. I just got RE Rev2 on PS4, but I really prefer the handheld to be honest. The original was SO enjoyable on 3DS. And you want to know why? GYRO AIM. I said it a long time ago- I wish this was on 3DS because of how fun it was to play with gyro.
Well whattaya know- Vita is getting gyro! Usually I'm not a big fan of gyro based controls (except for small adjustments and supplementary use) but this is one game where gyro really shines. I had to turn off the 3D with gyro because it would throw it out of the sweet spot anyways (granted that wouldn't be an issue with the new3DS) so it's basically everything I wanted! And Vita still has free online so ya- this is 100% EXACTLY what I wanted to see.
Is frima studios even qualified to make this port perfect?
I played it on PS4, but I'm really upset this isn't coming to 3DS. I'm thrilled that they're bringing to Vita, but the 3DS was where the Revelations sub-series was born as (originally) an exclusive; the sequel ought to be on 3DS.
Yay, ill get it on vita.
@ElkinFencer10 agreed
Hmm I think I'll try it, vita is my main console now so I'll probably get it lol
Yeah the frame rate of the PS4 version of Revelations is uncalled for. Shame on Capcom.
It's a great game but I don't think I'll be buying it for Vita. Unlike the original this one was clearly designed for consoles, I just don't see it translating well to the handheld.
