Just in case you didn't figure it out earlier in the week: Hideo Kojima is not joining the Push Square team. That was our hilarious April Fools' Day joke, which we weren't expecting to be one of the highlights of the past seven days. As it happens, though, it's been a really slow week in PlayStation, with the majority of the industry no doubt busying itself with Bloodborne. Here's hoping that everyone's drained the Chalice Dungeons dry by now, 'cos things definitely started to drag on Thursday.

Axiom Verge - 9/10

As suggested by other outlets prior to release, Axiom Verge is PlayStation's very own Metroid. That may sound a teensy bit degrading, but there's no denying that this and Nintendo's own space-faring adventure have more than a few things in common. Still, if being compared to one of the most beloved game series of all time isn't a compliment, then we don't know what is. If you've never seen the appeal of these types of games, then chances are this won't change your mind. Devoted fans of the genre, however, will no doubt adore Tom Happ's opus.

Rack N Ruin - 6/10

Rack N Ruin is a lot of fun when everything clicks, but these moments just don't happen often enough. If you're into top-down button mashers, then this may be worth a look. Roaming the world, while confusing at times, can feel rewarding when you make new discoveries, and Rack himself is an endearing character. Some poor design choices bog the experience down, however, and it's a real shame – especially when you consider the types of games that clearly inspired this title.

Feature: What Are April 2015's Free PlayStation Plus Games?

Here at Push Square Towers, we like to go the extra mile. We may have already reported on April 2015's roster of free PlayStation Plus software, but in the rush of breaking news, we don't get a chance to go into much detail in the moment. That's why we always follow up our original story with a fuller feature, outlining each of the titles that you can expect to be playing as part of your premium subscription. Let's get down to business, shall we?

Talking Point: What One Game Do You Always Come Back To?

Addiction is a strong word, but that's how many would describe their need to play one single game time and time again. A title that you've never really been able to put down, something that your mind always wanders back to, whether it's because you're bored and unsure of what to play, or because you simply enjoy it so much. It may be the backbone of your entire gaming library, or it could be a guilty pleasure – it doesn't matter as long as you know that it's there, waiting patiently for your inevitable return. We've gathered several of Push Square's staff to tell us all about that one game that's always bringing them back for more.

Looks like PlayStation France got itself in a muddle, as Spotify is available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, er, right now. The streaming application – which you'll find on your console's dashboard – is about 10MB in size, and is exclusive to Sony's systems for the time being. How long will things remain that way? "For the foreseeable," Murray Pannell, a SCEUK marketing director told Eurogamer.net at a preview event we totally weren't invited to last week. First world problems.

Adam West Will Be Fighting Crime First in Batman: Arkham Knight on PS4

Sony's marketing arrangement with Batman: Arkham Knight has already spawned a swish silver system, but the Japanese giant's also locked up some "exclusive" content for the upcoming release. This will, of course, be timed – and an image uploaded on Amazon.com explains that that will remain the case "until at least Fall 2015". Paying to keep goods off other consoles – not exactly cool.
