God of War PS4 PlayStation 4

Sony Santa Monica's no stranger to stunning visuals, and it looks like it intends to set a brand new bar with the forthcoming God of War PS4. As part of a job listing – we know, it's a really slow week – dug up by the eagle-eyed DualShockers, the developer is looking for a senior FX artist who will help to create "jaw dropping visuals".

But there's more: "As a senior FX artist, you must possess the ability to effectively collaborate with the art and creative directors to create FX that are stunning while also working with other development team members to ensure technical feasibility," the recruitment advertisement adds. "Help us create amazing top of class games that will set the PS4 apart from the rest."

We already know that the studio's working on the next entry in Sony's popular character action series, with God of War II director Cory Barlog brought back to lead the project. The big question is: will this release star Kratos, or will it be a reboot? We probably won't find out for a while – but in the meantime, God of War III Remastered is right around the corner.
