Deus Ex Call of Duty PS4

Eidos Montreal may be poking fun at the new Call of Duty: Black Ops III trailer, but secretly we suspect that it'll be a teensy bit nervous this morning. Unfortunately for the firm, its Thief reboot boasted some uncanny similarities to the infinitely superior Dishonored – and now it looks like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be going into battle with Activision's blockbuster brand.

For those of you that missed it, Treyarch teased its forthcoming first-person shooter with a trailer all about bioengineering. Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, who's the art director on Deus Ex, couldn't resist commenting on the similarities to his own game: "Mankind Divided actually takes place on the Eastern Front during World War II," he tweeted. "We felt inspired."

Even the official Deus Ex account got in on the act, posting a picture of a confused looking kitten. All jokes aside, we doubt that the two titles will cannibalise each other – after all, one's a stealth game with role-playing elements, while the other's likely to be a bombastic escapade with a heavy online multiplayer focus. It's all good.
