After an eternity of delays, The Elder Scrolls Online is finally adventuring onto the PlayStation 4 on the 9th June, and, for what it's worth, it's looking like the massively multiplayer online role-playing game will feature some nice improvements by the time that it steps foot onto Sony's newest console.
Courtesy of a massive 20GB patch, the PC version of the title has been tweaked substantially, with many players going as far as to dub this the rebirth of the somewhat divisive release. The update adds the suitably named justice system, which brings law and order to Tamriel. This means that users can now steal and murder their way through the game, as well as sell stolen items to fences, and bribe officials to look the other way.
The real alterations, though, come in the form of skills and how they work. Not only can you spend champion points on powerful passive abilities, but the title as a whole has been rebalanced rather dramatically. Weapons, armour, damage modifiers, and statistics across the board have been tweaked, with the developer going as far as to reset everyone's skill and attribute points.
On top of all this, the patch fixes countless bugs, improves numerous animations, and puts an end to a list of audio issues. You can read the gigantic patch notes through here.
Are you looking forward to journeying through Tamriel again, or are you hesitant? Let us know who you're allied with in the comments section below.

I was trying my best to resist purchasing this game, but it's pretty hard to now after reading this. I kinda wanna get it. If these improvements actually do work, this game might be my new go-to comsole MMO and I can finally put Destiny down for good... Hopefully.... Maybe.
20gb patch, that's insane?
@JesWood13 I'm hoping the witcher, project cars, anything really does that for me. Here's the issue. If eso comes out in the vicinity of the rumored comet expansion will you be able to resist? I know I won't be a ble to and I have eso for pc but have been waiting for ps4 version.
@BigDaddyT0101 Yeah, I have a pretty tough choice. If the Comet expansion is legit and really improves upon the game, then I might not even care about ESO beyond that. Maybe after I've done all I can stand to do in Destiny after the last two add on comes out will I think about picking up ESO. I mean, I'm still going to get Witcher 3, but it's not an MMO. Witcher 3 is all about single player, which I like a lot and honestly prefer in RPGs, but I'm willing to give ESO a chance with all its improvements.
I'm gonna be honest: I'm looking forward to trying this out. I've heard very mixed opinions on it, but I'm a massive Elder Scrolls fan, and I like running about massive open worlds.
Probably best to approach it with some slightly lowered expectations, I think, and see how it turns out.
I'm torn. I got it for PC when it first came out, played it for my first free 30 days and never touched it again. Now that it's dropped the subscription model and seemingly made improvements, I'm tempted to buy it for the PS4. I've never tried an MMO on a console, so that's why I'm torn. I may have to wait to hear some reviews before I pull the trigger on this one.
Can't wait, but that's no surprise 😅
Very glad to hear it's getting an overhaul with PS4 in mind
I wanna try this out for myself because I too have heard mixed opinions about it. I hope there's a free trial.
It would have to be mightily impressive to stop me playing the quite brilliant FFXIV though.
Can't wait i'm looking more forward to this than Bloodborn. Stopped playing FFXIV for now, i'm looking for another go to MMORPG hopefully it takes longer than 2 or 3 days to hit max level ;P
@ApostateMage No free trial, because the game is going buy2play march 17. If you buy the game you will get everything that has been released so far (including justice system and all that) without having to pay a monthly fee. You can however, pay a monthly fee and then you will get all future expansions. There will also be an in-game cash shop, but they will only sell potions, mounts and cosmetic items. So no pay2win
@Septimus
Nice. Sounds like a decent concept. Cheers.
As a big Elder Scrolls fan I will definitely buy the game. I still have my ps3 just for Skyrim and GT6.
I wonder though which game will take most of my time this summer. Witcher 3 or ESO... I have never played a Witcher game, and have no idea if ESO is any good. Time will tell
