Outdoing its own expectations and certainly outdoing ours, Dragon Ball XenoVerse has shipped 1.5 million units worldwide. The brawler released at the end of last month here in the West.
Needless to say, we're happy for everyone involved, because we reckon that it's the best Dragon Ball game in years. Indeed, we suppose that this just goes to show that a lot of people agree – after all, fans have been dying to get their hands on a title with a fresh take on Akira Toriyama's universe, and XenoVerse fits the bill nicely.
The game's producer, Masayuki Hirano, seems to follow a similar school of thought, as he's said: "We decided to take a risk and create a completely new concept to entertain our fans and Dragon Ball lovers and we are quite proud of the successful result."
Of course, this kind of success is bound to make publisher Bandai Namco take notice, and we'd wager that you'll be hearing about a sequel sooner or later. Hirano continues: "We will continue working and reaching new heights."

Happy for them, the game is funny and it is very good in capturing the anime atmosphere....

I want a 2d SF style Dragonball Z fighting game. I heard such a game is currently being developed for the 3ds, but I would want one on the homeconsoles. With powers like these characters have, games simply don't work out in 3d. Even the best DBZ game in years isn't as cool as a 2d game would be imo. Think MvC, but with DBZ characters... It would kick ass. I believe we had some on the PSP, and I hope this franchise will return to that style. Also: a true DBZ J-RPG would be cool

Wonder if PS3 will still get Greatest Hits games w/ all the DLC now that the PS4 is out? My kid wants this but he can wait, won't be playing online much.
No wonder the servers took a beating if it sold close to that amount.

@Boerewors I'd love to play a true DBZ RPG, in the style of Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy or maybe even like Kingdom Hearts.
