Remember the Dissidia Final Fantasy games back on the PSP? Featuring heroes and villains of the Final Fantasy universe, many fans demanded a home console sequel or even ports of the brawlers, but perhaps strangely, publisher Square Enix appeared to lose much of its interest in the series.

Until now, that is. A lovely looking new Dissidia is coming to Japanese arcades, complete with Cloud and co rendered in glorious high definition. The company's released a trailer for the fighter that we've embedded, and, of course, it's made us wonder if this will ever be considered for a console release.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.

I'd love to see another Dissidia game on consoles, to be honest. A few tweaks here and there to the the foundation of the PSP games, and I think it could be amazingly good.

HYYYYYYYYPE. Read the headline and assumed it was another fan made "what if" type thing, never been so excited to be wrong. Dissidia was my most played game on PSP, and i will be so chuffed if this makes its way to PS4!

Dissidia Final Fantasy is up there in my personal favourite games, put 200 plus hours in both and hoped for one on Vita but would take it on any console.

Well maybe this will come to Consoles one day after XV releases. I hope FF XV characters will be in it.

Knowing Square Enix, this will DEFINITELY be coming to PS4. They like to release games over and over and leech up every red cent, which in this case will be a good thing.

Then again, they also have a habit of re-releasing games we don't want and not bringing the games we do...

Don't worry guys! In Japan, they like to release games to Arcades first so people can beta test and devs can squash bugs.
Then when the console version comes out we will probably get more characters too.

A bit more variety In the arena would of been nice. Looks decent enough. The version of cloud I can remember had mahooosive forearms and calf muscles and had a triangle on his noggin. Nothing like that imposter above.
