P5 Clipped

Now that it's out in the open and letting loose all of its secrets, Persona 5 has sprung up the most wanted list of many a gamer. If you were already left extremely excited by the game's brilliant gameplay trailer, then you might want to sit down before we shower you in new information from Japanese publication Dengeki PlayStation.

The magazine's scans, which have been kindly translated by Gematsu, spill the beans on numerous aspects of the upcoming role-playing game. For starters, the protagonist and his friends attend a private high school, which appears to be located in Tokyo, so you can expect a rather dramatic departure from Persona 4's sleepy town setting.

Next up is the news that the title will, like its predecessors, run on a calendar, and you'll still have to attend classes and social events on certain days and at certain times. As hinted in the latest trailer, you'll be living a normal life during the day, and then donning masks at night in order to go and steal stuff as a thief. We can likely expect more details on this element of the release in the coming weeks.

As for gameplay, you'll be able to sneak past enemies as you traverse dungeons if you're looking to avoid a fight, or, as usual, you can run into them and engage in combat. Speaking of which, exploiting enemy weaknesses is still the key to success in battle.

The scans also highlight the protagonist's persona, Arsene, who appears to be incredibly well designed, and even sports something of a top hat, and no, he has nothing to do with Arsenal's weary manager. Finally, the game's soundtrack is apparently described as acid jazz, which, we suppose, can only make perfect sense at this point.

Gaze upon the pages that we've embedded, and compete to see who's the most hyped in the comments section below.
