Toukiden: The Age of Demons was quite a pretty game on Vita, and we're sure that its semi-sequel, Toukiden: Kiwami, will be too. However, with the game also slashing its way onto the PlayStation 4, how much better will it look on Sony's newest system?
Fortunately, the answer is pretty good. Sporting better lighting, textures, and visual effects, the home console version's got a nice style to it, even if it's not a particularly massive graphical jump. Showcased in three new trailers -- each focusing on one of the new weapon types -- we're excited to get our sweaty hands on both versions when the game releases next month.

Still Vita is better and stronger.
Loving the look of the Naginata.
If i dont get burned out out of this kind of games with MH4U, ill pick this one up looks so good and love the extra RPG system
@Faruko Honestly, I reviewed the first game, and I wasn't excited for it at all. I didn't expect much, but I spent about 100 hours playing even after the review was published. It's a really fun and addictive game if you can dig into it.
@ShogunRok It is coming in the same month of BloodBorne, it will be pretty much between this or Code name Steam on the 3DS
Edit: and FF Type0, f***
dont have neither the time or money to buy all those 4 games on same month
@ShogunRok I do not know the franchise... is it a "clone" of Monster Hunter? When will it be released?
@arnoldlayne83 It comes out in March. It's a Monster Hunter type game, yeah. It's got more of an emphasis on story, and it's arguably more accessible, though.
@ShogunRok sounds great! Thanks
Its coming in a really packed month if you are a multi system owner
FF-Type 0, Code name steam, BloodBorne, Xenoblade 3D (April 10), Borderlands (dont care) and Battlefield HardLine
I'll wait for when the price is right to get this one.
@Faruko Bloodborne + Dark souls 2 + Project cars + Bladestorm... I'll be soaked into them since summer I guess....
My vita is ready.
I couldn't really get into this game on Vita. Idk, I'm too conditioned by Monster Hunter to the point I dislike anything that's not exactly the same.
Looks a lot better on PS4 though. I may end up snagging the home console version and giving it another go, probably next year, whenever I'm done with MH4U lol
@JaxonH
Same here. All these MH clones on the Vita miss the MH refinemenf. But after 5 days (and 25 hours ) of MH4 I long for this game for one reason and one reason alone: controls.
Although the C- Nipple brought vast improvements, it's no substitute for a real stick... Neither is the left stick on the 3ds for that matters. That's why I simply can't understand the vita isn't a huge succes; it's the handheld I always dreamt of. MH on the Vita would look gorgeous and play like a charm. If only there was a way too play my 3ds games on my Vita....
Vita is the best handheld ever made, but made in an era where handheld just don't seem to matter no more. Mobile gaming will never be a substitute for handheld gaming, but unfortunately it seems they are not aiming to be a direct replacement: people play the shitty games with lousy controls anyway, so why bother implementing decent analog sticks.
If Nintendo or Sony bring an Android phone with thumbsticks that can pop out which supports both Google store and PSN/ e- store games, along with being a full functioning phone.... I'd be the happiest guy alive. Seeing how fast the technology is evolving it is possible and with a design like the Xperia you can't go wrong.
@Boerewors MH is a clone of Phantasy Star and Vita is home of that, MH is nothing, Toukiden is way better than pixel MH on dead 3DS.
@JaxonH it's a port from Vita to PS4, Vita is still better than PS4, there was a proof before for comparison.
This game keeps looking better every time I watch the trailers, really makes me wish I could afford a PS4.
@Boerewors You are missing the point of what makes the 3DS a much better system overall... Games.
The WiiU is still doing bad, but its doing much better than a year ago, Why ? Games
The 3DS turned itself around, Why ? Games
And whatever the Vita is better than the 3DS, is just debatable, i cant trust my Vita to be a portable console, i just cant, its not built to be portable like the 3DS is, the clamshell desing is vastly superior to any other design when it comes to portability. I cant throw my Vita into my back pack and go to work, because the screen might scratch or something will hit one of the Analogs. Instead the 3DS you just throw it and forget about it, because the design means its safe and sound from everything, the Analogs are part of the design, im pretty sure Nintendo would have put some normal analogs if they found how to do it without sacrificing the handheld design
@Boerewors
Idk, I'm actually a huge fan of the 3ds analog. I find it to be very comfortable, the concave shape is perfect for my thumb to snug into for a firm grip. What I like most though is the range of motion. The Vita sticks are still based on a spherical movement range, but because of size restrictions it's a little limited. The 3DS analog, however, is not based on spherical range at all, but has a planar movement range, which allows it to move farther than a traditional stick would move for its size.
As for the Cstick, I haven't had any problems with it tbh. Works a lot better than I thought it would actually. I don't think it would be ideal for a FPS where extreme accuracy is required, but for general camera control, at least in MH4U and Zelda Majoras Mask, it seems to work fine.
Idk, I've heard some people say they don't like it, others like myself like it fine. Maybe it's expectations. I was never expecting it to rival a full analog stick like that of the CPP. But for what it is- built in and compact, I'm diggin it.
@Faruko @JaxonH
I did in fact say that I'd wish for a way to play my 3DS games on my Vita, so i do realize what's the problem. And before people start saying "Vita has tons of games", well they do... But none of the high profile games the 3ds does which are worth buying a console for. Ofcourse, that's my opinion. But the games I ussually play on my Vita are ports and indies.
As a handheld I just think the Vita evolved in a way I always hoped handhelds would; it's portable, but has the comfort of your regular controller. The 3ds' clamshell isn't bulletproof either: when closed it will leaves marks on your screen with too much pressure and I wanna keep the outside scratch free too, so I always carry a pouch with me anyway. Both my 3ds XL and my Vita don't fit in my pockets, so as far as portability goes I'd go for the GBA SP
The vita keeps on surprising me in terms of hardware possibilities, where the 3ds just recently got remotely interesting because of the stable 3d. I like my 3ds games more than I like my Vita games, but it's a shame I have to play them on my 3ds.
Fap, fap, fap =).
Didn't care for the demo on Vita, to be fair that also isn't much to go by for this kind of game. Tempted to give it a try on PS4. I may like it better on a home console.
how awesome would it be if vita player and ps4 player could play together in an online co-op in this game?
