Look to the future

Until now, the only confirmed piece of add-on content for Destiny yet to be released was the Fallen-focused House of Wolves, the game's second expansion. However, at Activision's earnings call yesterday, the publisher revealed that there's a lot more to come as we reach deeper into 2015.

CEO Eric Hirshberg said: "We have a second [Destiny] expansion on the way, and a major content release coming in the fall." What that 'major content release' actually refers to is anyone's guess at this point, but it's worth noting that recently, a leaked Destiny launch timeline highlighted something named 'Comet', which is supposedly launching in the autumn, and appears to be a much heftier download than we've seen previously.

Whatever it is that Hirshberg mentioned, though, we reckon that it'll be Activision's way of annualising the franchise without actually releasing a sequel. As such, we're just hoping that the firm doesn't slap an extortionate price tag on it, but given the cost of the shooter's unsubstantial DLC so far, that's looking highly unlikely.

As usual, bark, moan, and rant about Bungie's sci-fi property in the comments section below.
