Call of Duty: World At War II PS4 PS3 PlayStation

The rumour mill's in overdrive right now, but our bullturd detector reckons that this is just about on the right side of plausible – until proven otherwise, anyway. Earlier in the week, an image appeared on the web hinting that Call of Duty: World at War II would be revealed on 4th May. While it looked professional enough, it's not hard to mock these kinds of things up, so we ignored it.

However, earlier today, an Xbox community manager uploaded a picture to his Twitter account that included a similar looking logo, and a Morse code message, teasing a, well, 4th May reveal. The employee has since posted a backtrack, stating that it was "not an official image [and was] not an endorsement or tease". Sounds like the kind of thing that you'd write after a severe telling off, huh?

We know that Treyarch is working on this year's Call of Duty, as the series is on a three-year development cycle right now, and 2015 marks the Santa Monica-based studio's turn. Many assumed that it would be working on a third Black Ops entry, but a potential return to World War II does seem timely – especially after the futuristic action of last year's Advanced Warfare.

Clearly there's nothing official to go on here, but we suppose that we'll find out for sure in a few months' time. Activision often announces the next entry in its monster property prior to E3, so this all checks out as far as we're concerned. Would you be up for the return of World at War, though? May the fourth be with you in the comments section below.
