We're settling back into our normal work rhythm here at Push Square Towers, which means that Out This Week is back for its second, somewhat similar season. We're happy with the format of most of the site's regular columns, but one of our New Year's Resolutions is to be a little more consistent in 2015, so hopefully we won't be clumsily skipping too many of these articles moving forward. Fingers crossed.
With that needless pre-amble out of the way, it's time to turn our attention to what's new on Sony's various PlayStation platforms this week. Spoilers: not a lot. The highlight has to be Joe Danger 2: The Movie, which attained an 8/10 in our review β but a shout out must go to Brandish: The Dark Revenant, which is due out on the PSP this week. Don't worry, it'll also run on your Vita and PlayStation TV.
Pick of the Week: Joe Danger 2: The Movie
Every stuntman dreams of being seen on the big screen, and in Joe Danger 2: The Movie, you'll be able to live out the eponymous daredevil's spell in Hollywood β this time on your Vita's dinky display. While shrinking down the cinematic action completely ruins our already rubbish introduction, though, this game actually feels at home on Sony's handheld, sporting the same bitesized brilliance of its PlayStation 3 predecessor, on a format that actually seems suited to it.
Joe Danger 2: The Movie Review
You won't be throwing rotten tomatoes at Joe Danger 2: The Movie on the Vita, as this is a meticulous port that maintains the appeal of the original PlayStation 3 release. Perky presentation mixed with measured gameplay make for a thoroughly enjoyable arcade treat, while all of the extras ensure that you won't be seeing the credits too quickly.
This is not only a pixel perfect port, however, as it actually comes with a few extras bundled into the digital download. For example, you'll be able to play as Tearaway protagonists Iota and Atoi, as well as LittleBigPlanet mascot Sackboy. The imaginatively named Steve from Minecraft has also made the jump, along with the cast of Team Fortress 2 for some reason. If all of that wasn't enough, there's a brand new Movie Maker set based on Mojang's masterpiece, and tons of Deleted Scenes, too. Bonza.

Thought The psp was dead lol
Nothing really interesting to me there...I suspect Id like Joe Danger if I tried it but I have too many games and too little time to play them already. I'm only able to play Dragon Age: Inquisition for a few hours a day so I'll be busy with that until about March
Shake spears looks pretty awful from what I've seen, love the concept but the gameplay is whack and jumpy as hell.
@Munkyknuts I'm considering ignoring all other games for a second play through of dragon age, probably on nightmare mode
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi when I finally get through with my play through as a good rogue/archer I have to play through again making negative/evil choices...with games like DA:I, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Deus Ex with moral systems in them that really change the narrative I always play at least twice...I might go with a mean warrior/vanguard next time. I love games like Dragon Age...my favourite kind of gaming experience.
Not a lot for me, but thankfully the Plus lineup is probably gonna keep me busy for the whole month.
@Munkyknuts I played as a nice ish warrior dwarfette in my first play through, will definitely be a major d bag in my next play though.
There is also Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk for the Vita this week for us, hardcore jrpg fans.
Been looking forward to Brandish for quite a bit. I was surprised and pretty stoked when I heard that Xseed took up the task of translating.
I'm certainly glad I've got a massive Backlogg
@belmont Yes! I've been waiting for this one for a while. I'm choosing Ayesha Plus over RE1, Dying Light and The Order for my current gaming needs since I'm trying to save money (going to UFC 184 next month).
Wooooot more Falcom! Going to try out Brandish.
