DriveClub PS4 PlayStation 4

We have to qualify every DriveClub article with a comment about its crippling issues at launch, but we're also now allowed to stress just how far the racer's come – and that's a long way. In addition to actually working as intended, outstanding support has prompted the release to speed right to the front of the PlayStation 4 pack, and it's got another fuel injection today courtesy of a 3.33GB update.

Before you complain about the file size, though – we're with you, it's a big one – this isn't just about bug fixes, but also free content. As part of the download you'll get access to five new Japan tracks, which developer Evolution Studios has been teasing for some time. There's also a fresh online game mode named Multiplayer Time Trials, as well as support for a couple of premium expansions, which are due out next week.

If that wasn't enough, the Runcorn-based outfit has also included some graphical toggles, allowing you to turn off the crowds or corner flags should you prefer. And, it's made some adjustments to the title's vaunted Photo Mode, enabling you to switch off vehicle damage and more. It's a real mammoth overhaul, and it's available to download right now. Will you be returning to the racer to see what's new? Burn some rubber in the comments section below.
