Gone but not forgotten

Renowned for unique and mystifying vocals, Russian born singer Origa passed away from cancer during the weekend at the age of 44. She spent most of her life working in Japan and contributed to the games industry by providing vocals to Final Fantasy XIII-2. Anyone who has played it will have undoubtedly heard her, as she not only provides the vocals for the first area New Bodhum, but also for the Historia Crux menu which you use to travel across time. Other songs she contributed include New Bodhum -Aggressive Mix-, Missing Link, Parallel World, Parallel World -Aggressive Mix-, and Space-Time Interval.

More recently, she provided vocals for Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star by singing a couple of hymns featured throughout the game. Her most famous work, however, is undoubtedly the opening songs for both seasons of the iconic anime series, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
