Dragon's Dogma Online PS4 PlayStation 4

The phrase free-to-play may have prompted you to turn your nose up at Dragon's Dogma Online, but the forthcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 role-playing game looks every inch the co-operative series successor that you've been waiting for. In this brand new trailer, you'll see groups of four warriors taking on increasingly large enemies – many of which breathe fire.

It looks like most of the gameplay hooks from the original release have made the transition, with the Shadow of the Colossus-esque grapple mechanic glimpsed on various occasions. As an MMO, there'll be lobbies for you to congregate in – it's all looking extremely Phantasy Star Online 2. That's a good thing by the way.

In fact, the only downside is that, much like SEGA's seminal sequel, Capcom is refusing to commit to a Western release. A trademark was registered in Europe late last year, so we'll be praying to the dragons that it swoops over to our shores eventually. In the meantime, you're just going to have to lust over the video embedded below – and keep pestering the publisher on Twitter. Sometimes it works.
