Penitentiary pals

Savvy consumers will do well to wait before splashing out on hunting titles like Soul Sacrifice, as the genre tends to demand that an updated version must deploy a year or so after the original. Freedom Wars, which was a gigantic success upon its launch in Japan last year, could well be no different either, as Sony is teasing "something" for an event that it's holding in Osaka this week.

There's not an enormous amount to go on, but Gematsu reports that attendees at the so-called Sinners Festival should keep their eyes peeled during the final stage event at 18:00PM local time. "Something might happen during the finale," the itinerary apparently exclaims. "Keep your eyes on the last stage event until the very end." Given that the original sold some 200,000 copies at launch, a re-release seems inevitable.

Of course, the big question is: will it follow in God Eater 2: Rage Burst's footsteps, and also deploy on the PlayStation 4? Seeing as we've been enjoying the original on the PlayStation TV, we wouldn't mind an upscaled version running at 60 frames-per-second to be honest. How about you?
