Want one of those tasty 20th anniversary PlayStation 4 consoles? Sony will be selling 94 of the systems for £19.94 in London from tomorrow. Revealed as part of an hilarious PlayStation Access skit, you’ll not only need to find the super secret PlayStation '94 store – we know where it is, but we won’t giveaway the secret – but will also need to trade in a piece of memorabilia and quote the secret pass code to get in on the truly delicious deal.
A further 50 formats will be sold on Thursday and Friday respectively at full retail price. All of the proceeds will go towards UK charity Games Aid, which is nice to see. And don’t worry if you aren’t quick enough to nab a console, because it looks like the store has been outfitted with tons of classic PSone titles, such as the, er, awkwardly named Jimmy White’s 2: Cueball. If ol’ pasty face doesn’t convince you to take a last-minute trip to the capital, nothing will.

@BLPs As far as I'm aware, no one from Push Square will be in London tomorrow. I'm not saying where it is because it ruins the spirit of the video. You can find the location pretty easily with a Google search.
Watch the video, they explain that the memorabilia could be anything from an old controller to a poster. They want to make sure that these are being sold to fans and not scalpers.
@BLPs It's more interesting to have this kind of sale, they'll be selling them for a while after this too. It's just a bit of fun, so less of the pessimism perchance?
@BLPs Personally, I'm glad they're giving the money to charity, but that's just me... Then again, I don't really care about Sony's bottom line all that much.
@BLPs Well, you've got me there...
I think the entire sale of these has been one big farce and each day i look for more news on how I might be able to get one, results in me becoming more frustrated with how these will be bought and sold for an even bigger profit now or the favoritism to Country and now cities....
I know there isn't much to stop the selling but the distribution is truly laughable now the only one I agree with is the Picture competition but 20 is not a lot for that with so many PlayStation veterans over the year , 1994 should be going to that for me. Not a store in London which annoys the rest of the UK , especially the North. Considering they are already gone as well!
I really wanted to get one, but they're apparently sold out in the US. Not happy.
If I had a plane ticket to London and extra cash, I'd definitely make the trip. But it is what it is.
There's probably already a queue. Nevermind, and yes, just sell it. There's a select few for those willing to wait overnight in the middle of winter or you can pay megabucks in an auction. What happened to '4 the players'. To me, its all just bs, if they go to the trouble of making 12,000+ units, and, clearly, a lot of people would love this edition, then just sell it. Its poor business and turds on Sony's beloved 'core gamers' which I assume translates into English as 'consumers with disposable income'.
Lots of folks including myself would buy a controller by itself, too. I still have the PS Underground demo disc with MGS1, GT2, etc on it. That count as memorabilia? I just want the controller boo hoo 😭
@BLPs It's barely any money to Sony and it's not like their giving away a million dollars, and they also have the PS swag and stuff at the shop to make money off of too. This is probably more marketing than anything else, which could turn a profit. But anyways, I think this is pretty cool. It would definitally be worth waiting in line, if not to own one but sell one, you could make some serious $ with this thing.
I'm surprised at the negativity this is generating. Sony is just having a bit of fun, celebrating PlayStation's anniversary, and yet people are angry because they most likely can't get their hands on a limited edition console. Why worry about it? If it was commonly available then people would probably just moan that it's not special or they don't have the funds/will/desire to buy a 2nd one.
If they release the controllers at some point I'll happily grab one but if they don't, no biggie.
Oh my god you're kidding me. The one night I go to bed early and this happens. If I'd seen this last night, I would've called up a mate and driven there for this straight away. At that time of night I'm only about a 45 minute drive away, and I would so happily have stayed up in line all night for this!!
It would be nice if I were able to just buy the dual shock I live in Sweden so it's kind of hard for me to get my hands on the anniversary console! I've seen two competitions so far where the winner gets one, but what are the odds on that happening.
Currently about an hour or so queue outside the place. No chance now haha.
any idea what the full price is for the next couple days?
@BeardedWonder I believe it's £349.99, right?
