Gravity Rush PS4

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been over a year since we got our first look at Gravity Rush 2. Sony curiously opted to include a clip from the forthcoming sequel at its Tokyo Game Show booth, but since then, developer Japan Studio has barely acknowledged the existence of the title. However, speaking as part of a Famitsu feature on 2015, creator Keiichirō Toyama has hinted that we may learn more soon.

According to a translation of his comments courtesy of Gematsu, he’s aware that fans have been waiting a while for new information, but he hopes that “they’ll understand why once [the studio has] something new to say”. This sounds to us like production has switched to the PlayStation 4, which is sure to disappoint Vita owners, but perhaps makes sense for the longevity of the promising property.

Sony mentioned recently that it would not be investing quite as heavily in first-party projects for its flagging portable format, but the system is still selling reasonably well in Japan, so that comment seemed aimed at its Western teams. Making the aforementioned sequel for the manufacturer's next-gen appliance would allow for a bigger, more engaging open world, though. The question is: would you like to see hero Kat on the big screen?
