This editor’s made no secret of his penchant for PlayStation 4 exclusive Until Dawn, and the Supermassive Games developed survival horror looked brilliantly bad in its The Game Awards showing tonight. The clip centred on a vulnerable Hayden Panettiere trying to escape from an incensed member of the Insane Clown Posse. Day one.

As I stated during the show. It just looks bad. Not 'so bad it's good' just plain crap. Sony's first parties shot their load in 2013 and with all the re-shuffling and other shake ups over the course of this year, unfortunately it looks like not until 2016 when they'll finally get back on track. If that's the case, hopefully there's some more Bloodborne deals in the works, because eventhough that's not my kind of game, I can still tell it's going to be high quality and please fans. There's no redeeming qualities of Until Dawn.
@Gamer83 It looked cool to me and the people over on GAF seem to have althe same opinion. Its like Heavy Rain if you've ever played that. Imagine playing that game with your friends and in intensive situations they all just start yelling out different options you should choose. That sounds fun.
Its purposely supposed to look like a cheap teen horror movie. The Order 1886 let me down. RAD blew their chance again. They have one more chance to get this right tomorrow.
@Dohv
It does look to draw some inspiration from Heavy Rain, unfortunately for me, I hated Heavy Rain. Not surprised the pro-Sony crowd at GAF would like the game but hey, I'm glad for you and anybody else who is looking forward to it. Just saying to me, it seems like straight trash. Doesn't mean I won't try a demo if there is one or borrow it from a friend to see how it is.
Looks pretty good to me.
QTE horror game?
But somehow looks good for PS Plus Free games membership:)
@Sevenifity I'd say it's more akin to The Walking Dead in gameplay from what I've played.
I can respect a film (or in this case a game) that knows exactly what it is and runs with it so the cheesiness factor is more than a plus with me.
The whole concern is length, how long can this game last because as a film it would probably be over in 90 minutes. I know there's multiple endings but I haven't went back to Heavy Rain/The Walking Dead/Wolf or Beyond (which I really didn't care for) since I beat them so if I'm going to pay full price for this I want my moneys worth
I adored Heavy Rain on PS3. Once I bought a PS4, I was really exited for more games like Heavy Rain. I really enjoy this formula along with others as well of course. But every time I see this game I am glad I got a PS4
This is the type of game I would love to play with my friends!! I really can not wait for this game cause it has over 100s of ending! And 100s ways it will freak you out.
I'm really looking forward to this game, reminds me of a TellTales game.
Lol, I thought it seemed pretty fun, not my kinda of gameplay but I do like those types of awful films sometimes. I'll be giving it a go. Who on earth hides under a bed, stupid.
@Gamer83 I didn't think much of la noire, I barely recall what heavy rain was even about (yep I finished), beyond two souls though I really enjoyed. This game probably is crap but it still looks like enough fun to keep me occupied for a short game. With a game like this it comes more down to taste really.
Yeah, what I've seen of the gameplay for this gives off a definite Heavy Rain vibe. The thing is though, what bothered me about Heavy Rain was never the gameplay but how deadly serious the game took itself despite the fact that story was kind of crap and ultimately didn't make a lot of sense. David Cage's pretentious proclamations about evoking emotions and evolving the gaming medium and blah, blah, blah didn't help matters any.
This is a game that knows exactly what it is and isn't afraid to embrace that. That doesn't mean it'll necessarily be any good, of course. As intrigued as I am I'm holding off for some reviews before I pick this one up, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
I actually want to play this.
