We love navel gazing as much as the next person here at Push Square Towers, which is why we've compiled seven features on our favourite 2014 PlayStation forays. However, in an industry that's constantly moving forwards, it's hard not to look ahead as well. That's why we've pulled our team together one last time to discuss our most anticipated PlayStation 4 releases of 2015. One of the rules here is that the games had to be officially announced, as we didn't want to end up in fantasy land. With that in mind, here's what we're most looking forward to next year.

The more I think about it, the more I realise that 2014 was a bitterly disappointing year for me. I've enjoyed replaying Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered, and I loved inFAMOUS: Second Son more than most, but there hasn't really been anything that's made me wild. I'm hoping that will change in 2015, as there are a lot more titles up my alley. Indeed, the jury may still be out on The Order: 1886 and Until Dawn, but they're both looking like my cup of tea. The latter scare-a-thon in particular is almost guaranteed to attain mixed reviews, but everything I've seen of the schlocky survival horror has had me in fits of laughter. For that reason, I can say with some certainty that Supermassive Games' angsty adventure is, bizarrely, my most anticipated title right now.

An RPG would be an easy pick for me – the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Persona 5 are right up there on my wishlist – but instead, I'm going to be outlandish and say that my most anticipated game of 2015 is currently Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Being a huge fan of the source material, I've been waiting years for a title that rivals the still-brilliant Budokai 3, and Xenoverse looks like it might actually come close. What's more, it's out in just a couple of months, so if Goku's latest turns out to be a dud – Kami forbid – then there's still plenty to look forward to next year.

There are so many things to look forward to in 2015, but standing slightly taller than the rest, albeit because of his pointy ears, is Batman: Arkham Knight. I was lucky enough to see a gameplay demo at this year's EGX, and the overenthusiastic presenter was right: you absolutely do feel like the goddamn Batman. Finally getting the opportunity to swoop around Gotham itself will be an awesome sight, and as it's built from the ground up for the PS4, it's going to be even more sight-ier than our stupid non-Batman eyes can possibly imagine. I've even got my ridiculous Special Edition on lock – not the one with the Batmobile statue, that's insanity, but nothing says 'Hey, this guy's pretty cool' like having a 12" Batman figure on your bedside table. Hello ladies.

2015 is shaping up to be a pretty exciting year, with all manner of thrilling games set to release. In terms of what I'm excited for, the obvious answer is Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, but I'd be lying if I said that that was my most anticipated title. In truth, that spot is currently being hogged by No Man's Sky, a space sim with stunning vistas, an impossibly large map, and a clear creative vision which looks as if it's being designed specifically for me. Some people have expressed concerns that the gameplay mightn't live up to this gorgeous outer shell, but to be honest, I'm not too concerned. I'd be happy to just explore that world, and admire the scenery.

I've never been one for looking too far into the future, so I'm not surprised to find the title that I'm most excited about in 2015 is little more than a month away. Dying Light is a mix of two of my favourite games from the last generation – Dead Island and Mirror's Edge – so I'm very excited to be able to parkour my way through a zombie outbreak. I just hope that it's the good part of Techland on development duties, as I'd be really disappointed if it turns out to be a stinker like Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

There are almost too many games coming out next year to pick one, but because I've been asked to, I'll say that my most anticipated title is SOMA. Frictional Games is great at making incredible horror experiences, and the brief glimpses of this title that I've seen so far have been more than enough to get me extremely excited for the forthcoming release. The underwater environments and alleged psychological nature of the scares – as opposed to jump scares – have me more excited for a game than I've been since Alien: Isolation.

Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham games were the highlights of last generation, so Batman: Arkham Knight is my most hotly anticipated game of 2015. The core gameplay of brawling, detective vision, and using the grapple gun to slingshot into city traversal have established solid mechanics to build upon. The same applies to the Metroidvania approach of drip-feeding new gadgets and skills. The June 2015 delay will hopefully allow Rocksteady time to apply a next-gen sheen to its fantastic gothic art style, and ensure that Arkham Knight is technically tight on the PS4. I'm also excited for the inclusion of the Batmobile, because Batman's iconic roadster has been a memorable addition throughout the history of Batman games. I still remember gamers buzzing from the scaling road sections in Batman Returns on Mega-CD.

A long time ago during a childhood far, far away, I played Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for hours on end. I would do countless Galactic Conquests as the strategising commandeer of a fleet, while getting down in the grit of the action, having some of the most memorable moments playing as iconic Star Wars characters and carrying my whole team to victory. I replayed the campaign many times for its fascinating perspective on the Clone Wars, loved the epic space battles when I raided enemy ships and destroyed them from the inside, and much more. I never even had the opportunity to touch the online multiplayer, so with a modern, fresh take on the franchise by the team at DICE, the masters of grand, eye-popping multiplayer shooters, I couldn't be more ecstatic and hyped for the hopefully triumphant return of Star Wars: Battlefront in late 2015.

2015 holds many games that I'm eagerly awaiting for the PS4, with the frontrunner being Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. This title's gameplay presentation was simply stunning when showcased during the PlayStation Experience event, and once again shows Naughty Dog's dedication to wowing PlayStation fans with unprecedented visuals and gameplay mechanics. Seeing hero Nathan Drake traversing a lush jungle environment with highly realistic detail was jaw-dropping. Even the combat seems much more up-close and personal, in a way that's reminiscent of the brutal and believable action in The Last of Us. Oh, and Drake with a rope – well, that just has badass written all over it, and will certainly add plenty of variety. Not only am I stoked to get heavily engaged in the story, but I'm also very excited to see how the multiplayer will fare. There's no question that I'm eagerly counting the days until the game's release.
That's us all out of hot air, but which titles are you looking forward to in 2015? Do you feel the same as any of our scribes, or have you got a different opinion? Look to the future in the comments section below.

Easy 2 for me, witcher 3 and batman
well as you can only vote for one on your list I think I'll write them here instead
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
J-Stars Victory Vs+
One Piece Pirate Warriors 3
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
Star Wars Battlefront
DmC Definitive Edition
Devil May Cry 4 HD
Batman Arkham Knight
Uncharted 4
oh and if they come out next year
Mass Effect 4
Final Fantasy XV
For me in order:
1º Hotline Miami 2
2º Ratchet & Clank Remake
3º Persona 5
4º What Remains of Edith Finch
5º Uncharted 4
I am looking forward to Arkham Knight. I would have picked Uncharted 4 if I could pick two but I am more excited about Arkham Knight only because I have never played an Uncharted before.
I chose The Witcher 3 as we were only allowed the one vote.
Im also looking forward to-
SOMA
NO MANS SKY
BATMAN
UNCHARTED 4 & METAL GEAR amongst others.
But what Im looking forward to most is, being able to use my PS4 once PSN is back up and running.
No Man's Sky is the game I've wanted my entire life. Or at least, I'm hopeful it will be.
1) Persona 5
2) Final Fantasy Type-0
3) No Man's Sky
4) Metal Gear Solid IV: The Phantom Pain
5) Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (never played the original, and am looking forward to the next gen port with all the DLC)
I'll probably still get Batman: Arkham Knight when it comes out as well, but so far I've seen very little other than Bat-tank fetishism. The Metroid-esque gameplay of the original makes it my favorite game in the series, by far.
My most anticipated game is Uncharted 4. There are more games I'm looking forward to though. I'm really looking forward to Batman: Arkham Knight and Star Wars: Battlefront. For a games I'm excited for, but may not get on day one, there is also Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires.
For games that might come out next year:
Mirror's Edge
FFXV
It wad between the Witcher and No Man's Sky for me.. I went with The Witcher. What I want most in 2015 is a Fallout 4 announcement, and I hope it's this gen only for the sake of depth.
I am very surprised to see so few mentions of The Division. Looks like an awesome game to me.
Forest
1) persona 5
2) the order 1886
3) bloodborne
4) Uncharted 4 a thiefs end
Not ps4 but Wii U
1) Xenoblade Chronicles X
2) Zelda Wii U
3) fire emblem X SMT
4) im hoping for a Luigi'smansion Wii U version.
Persona 5!! A.k.a the reason there's a PS4 sitting between my Wii U and PS3 right now
until dawn and battlefront
I voted for Metal Gear although I would love a new Final Fantasy game.
Nearly all of that list, but the Witcher is my most anticipated game. I'm hoping games like day z, let it die, wild and the forest turn out great too.
FALLOUT 4!!!
Too many:
Dying Light
The Order: 1886
Drive Club
Just Cause 3
DMC Remastered
The Division
....and a whole lot more
Until Dawn
Uncharted 4
DmC Remastered
In order
1) Uncharted 4
2) No Man's Sky
3) Batman Arkham Knight
4) Star Wars Battlefront
5) Rime
6) Ratchet and Clank remake
7) Bloodborne
8) Metal Gear Solid 5
9) The Order 1886
10) Forest
11) The Division
12) Just Cause 3
13) Dragon Ball Xenoverse
14) SOMA
15) Final Fantasy 15 please and a lot more i can't think of right now ughh so many games!!!
Also, apparently Red Dead Redemption 2 is supposed to be out in 2015?
In no specific order:
Zelda
Bloodborne
Xenoblade
The Witcher
Halo 5
(Titanfall 2 ...maybe?!)
My list is short for the moment.
1. MGSV: The Phantom Pain.
2. Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
I'm have a varying level of interest in the others (The Division, Uncharted 4, 1886, Dying Light, Dead Island etc.)
Persona 5 all the way, but I'll be getting the PS3 version
BloodBorne..... can't wait to play that awesome game
Still a little disappointed with how the exclusive lineup is looking for PS4, but there's enough coming out next year to convince me to buy one. Games I'm looking forward to the most would be:
Final Fantasy XV
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Persona 5
Ratchet and Clank
Tearaway Unfolded
Uncharted 4
Also excited for Street Fighter V and Kingdom Hearts 3, but I don't think the former is coming out next year (and the latter definitely won't). I also expect and look forward to Gravity Rush 2 being announced as a PS4 game.
@AeroZeppelin I totally forgot about Rime when I was writing my entry! That game looks absolutely phenomenal. Although, in some ways, it has the same problem as No Man's Sky, in that we've not really seen enough of the moment-to-moment gameplay. Good list
Batman and Metal Gear.
Witcher 3, The division, Project cars, Final Fantasy Type 0. Cant think of anything else this year id be interested in at the moment.
For me it certainly has to be Earth Defense Forces 4.1: The Shadow Of Despair.
Loved the PS3 game so much I imported the Japanese version as it came out and when it finally reached Europe I bought the PAL version for both the PS3 and 360.
Really looking forward to the new levels as well as new weapons, but the one thing that got me excited the most is to see it running at a higher framerate. Hopefully 1080p at a rock solid 60fps.
Dragon Quest Heroes is another one I'm looking forward a ton. Hopefully it'll get a western release as well otherwise it'll be another import for me.
I am waiting for Mafia III.
One choice on the poll? Who would only be looking forward to ONE GAME in all of 2015?
1. Uncharted 4
2. Mortal Kombat X
3. The Witcher 3
4. Batman: Arkham Knight
5. MLB 15 The Show
I'd have MGS 5: The Phantom Pain on there, but I'm still not convinced it has a chance at a 2015 release.
Has FFXV been confirmed for 2015 yet?
Is media Molecule working on that marionette gsme?
Uncharted 4 got my vote but TLG would be a nice surprise
Im still staring at my unopened PS3 under the tree wondering if I should try and return it to TRU and wait on a PS4. Decisions, decisions.
The two reasons i bought the system: Just Cause and Uncharted.
Uncharted 4
The order 1886
Street fighter v
Mortal kombat x
The Witcher 3
Arkham Knight, The Order, Uncharted 4 The FFXv demo, The Tomarrow Children & Rime.
how can you pick just one??? bloodborne, dark souls 2 port, arkham knight, the order, and my number one, no mans sky. there is so much coming in 2015, and that's just what we know of. 2015 will be epic.
I'm surprised to be saying this after all the remastered titles we got this year, but my most anticipated games of 2015 at the moment are Double Fine's special editions of Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle, two of my all-time favorite games that I never in a million years expected to see revived for the new generation.
I'm also looking forward to all the usual suspects: The Order, Uncharted 4, Persona 5, No Man's Sky, Arkham Knight. Dying Light might turn out okay but I'm actually more looking forward to Hellraid from Techland, though I'm not sure if that one's gonna actually make it out in 2015.
I'm looking forward to playing these 2015 PS4 games, even though I probably won't actually get to play them until late 2016.
Assassin’s Creed Victory
Batman: Arkham Knight
Bloodborne
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
No Man’s Sky
Persona 5
The Order: 1886
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Tom Clancy’s The Division
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Until Dawn
No Man's Sky, Persona 5 and Batman. Literally all I'm wanting. Looks like 2015 is going to be even quieter than this year...
Evolve for me
Tough one as I'm basically looking forward to all of the games on that list! Those and Zelda + Xenoblade are my most wanted!
My 2015 Gaming List So Far:
1) No Man's Sky
2) Dragon Ball Xenoverse
3) Uncharted 4 A Thief's End
4) The Division
5) Batman Arkham Knight
6) Star Wars Battlefront
Also, I would like to play the remastered version of Beyond Two Souls
I forgot kingdom under fire II. Been waiting for that
In no particular order because I'm hyped for all these
Day 1 must buy games
Uncharted 4 A Thief's End
The Order 1886
Dragonball Xenoverse
Persona 5
Ratchet & Clank
Until Dawn
Dying light!! Hands down my most anticipated game for 2015 I dont care what you say, dead island was awesome and this is going to be awesomer. My brother is buying a ps4 for it.. XD
I don't have a PS4, and have no intent on getting one, but I'm still looking forward to Neptunia VII (and hoping for a PC release).
