Just because it’s almost Christmas, we’re not pulling the plug on WAYP. This is your last vanilla edition, before we run a seasonal special sometime next week. We’re finalising Game of the Year here behind the scenes, so there may not be too much time for actual playing – but hey, if you can’t put your feet up over the holidays, when can you?

I have a list of things to do longer than my left arm this weekend, but I’m still hoping to sit down and play something these coming days. Assassin’s Creed Unity, Loadout, and Grand Theft Auto V are all on the agenda – but I know that I’m just going to end up booting DriveClub, because it’s just so pick-up-and-play.

This weekend is all about finishing games off before receiving a few more as Christmas gifts. That means that I should be struggling to get 100 per cent completion in Samurai Warriors 4, winning the Premier League in FIFA 15, scouring the map for any missed optional content in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and blitzing through Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. But in reality, I'll probably just hop on Grand Theft Auto V and cruise around Los Santos while listening to Danger Zone.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is taking up the majority of my time this weekend, and when I say 'The majority of my time', I actually mean 'What little time I have in which to play games', as this weekend I'll be preparing some wonderful Game of the Year videos for deployment as we unveil our picks towards the end of December. Anyway, the game's pretty good if you're into wool and stuff.

I don't actually remember buying Assassin's Creed Unity, but it must have happened, because the box is currently sitting atop my PS4 – an effigy [Good word – Ed] to my lack of self control. In any case, I guess I should probably play that, since I apparently paid cash money for it.

This weekend, I’ll admit that I am a Dragon Age Inquisition addict again, just in case you missed the conclusive evidence in Ben's Game of the Month video. All of my spare time is spent going through every single nook and cranny that this game has to offer. I'm still playing my other addiction of Freedom Wars as well, but only when the Vita is my only option.

This weekend, I'll be playing Cosmophony on the PS3 – a game that demands a level of perfection that at the moment I'm falling well short of. When I need a break from its brutality, I'll also be trying to finish Sunset Overdrive [Hmm? – Ed] as I've only been able to chip away at it over the past month or so.

I'll be diving into Super Mega Baseball, a game I've been hearing some good things about – hopefully it's as fun as people say. If there's time, I might play a bit of NHL 15, too. It's looking to be a very sporty week for me!

An atmospheric game set amongst a blizzard, or with wandering deer and footprints in powdery snow, would be fitting this time of year. The Tall Trees area in Red Dead Redemption is a possibility, although a part of Sunday evening spent with the winter section of The Last of Us Remastered is more likely.

Christmas break! It's high time to catch up on my growing game backlog. I just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order, which is a surprisingly wonderful shooter with heart. But this weekend, I would like to dive into whatever I can. I need to start back on Transistor, might begin my long overdue sailing into Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and sneak in some Pokémon: Alpha Sapphire as well. Long story short: I gotta play as many games as possible for the next month with what little time I have.

With the success of last weekend’s Destiny raid attempt, I will now be putting all of my new gear to use in some Crucible matches. If I get around to it, I may also try out the PS4’s latest free-to-play title, Loadout.
