Tactical Japanese RPG Disgaea 5 – which, confusingly, is actually the sixth game in the franchise – was announced at Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show conference earlier in the year. However, as it was a Japanese event, only an Eastern release date was announced, leaving the usual black cloud over the possibility of a Western launch.
Thankfully, NIS America has swooped in to publish the game in both Europe and North America. Indeed, the title will launch exclusively on the PlayStation 4 sometime in Autumn next year. Are you a fan of the Disgaea franchise, or do you find tactical RPGs are too stressful? Let us know in the comments section below.

These games scare me!
Love Disgaea. Not sure i need to pick up another one tho, still not even half way thru the last two.
Looks like the Ps4's prospects for niche gamers just got a little rosier. It was a given that NISAmerica would localise this though considering its a decent selling franchise in the west.
@get2sammyb Yeah... scary FUN (and time consuming)
I loved the Disgaea anime, but I sadly dislike the Disgaea games since they're strategy/tactical, so won't be playing this one either.
I can't wait for dis!
I hope I can jump in without having played any of the earlier games. Only one I have is that Prinny one on PSP...never got very far.
The Disgaea franchise is one of the reasons that I bought the Playstation ahead of the Xbox. Cannot wait!
