Uncharted 4: A Thief's End PS4

We already know that Troy Baker will play Nathan Drake’s older brother in PlayStation 4 sequel Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but actor Todd Stashwick has now confirmed that he was originally cast in the role. Those of you with long memories may recall the The Riches star leaving the project along with ex-director Amy Hennig earlier in the year, for reasons that aren’t yet clear.

While we’re not going to speculate about the re-cast, though, this does give us some clues on the plot. The original teaser trailer – which featured the voice of Stashwick – hinted that his character was in search of vengeance. “I lost 15 years, buried alive, erased – you left me,” he snarled. “But you can’t outrun the past, and when it catches up, I’ll be there to sift through the wreckage.”

Our short glimpse of the title at E3 suggested that Drake had been dragged into a suicide mission against his will. “I don’t really have an option here,” he pleaded, after asking for Sully’s help. “You know that.” Our theory: Drake’s brother is turning in some favours, and these will eventually bring the protagonist to the brink. Honestly, we don’t think that the hero’s getting out of this one alive.
