"Who are we waiting for?"

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is mere months away at this point, which is an exciting revelation in itself for fans of the fearsome franchise. However, with the release drawing near, it’s fair to say that we still don’t know a whole lot about the episodic survival horror, aside from the fact that it will star Claire Redfield and Moira Burton in the lead roles. But is there more to the game than meets the eye?

You may want to divert your attention now if you’re sensitive to spoilers, but an ESRB listing – which age grades titles depending on their content – hints that Barry Burton, the father of Moira, could make a shock appearance in the release. “This is an action adventure game in which players assume the roles of an imprisoned woman and a father searching for his daughter on an island,” the description reads.

The summary doesn’t depict a whole lot else – there’ll be a variety of weapons for you to use – but does reference “an enemy having its hand cut-off in slow motion”. Apparently, there’ll also be a scene in which a character will “shoot herself in the head with a pistol, resulting in a large splatter of blood”. There’s no mention of any offensively bad voice acting, though, so we’re guessing that if Barry does put in appearance, he’ll be brought to life by someone new. Shame.
