DriveClub PS4 Patches

Doesn’t time fly when your game’s broken? Evolution Studios is already onto patch v1.07 for its PlayStation 4 exclusive racer DriveClub, but this does more than tweak the title’s busted online connectivity. The first new feature included as part of this update is Photo Mode, which will allow you to take snaps of your automobiles in all of their high definition glory. You can access the utility by tapping the right-side of the touchpad at any point while you’re playing.

Brilliantly, the patch also adds three new tracks – Yedapalli in India, Los Pelambres in Chile, and Wester Ross in Scotland – as well as support for the title’s free DLC, which is set to deploy next week. There are also changes to the collision and corner cutting penalties, as well as various other minor bug fixes, usability enhancements, and performance tweaks. Not a bad little overhaul, then, but it’s marred by the fact that the online connectivity is still shaky at best.

To be fair to the game, we did hop on a couple of nights ago and were able to play flawlessly, which is in contrast to the recent article that we wrote about the state of the release. Reliability seems to be the big issue at the minute, then; you can’t arrange a play session with your buddies and guarantee that it’s going to work when you log on. We remain hopeful that the Runcorn-based outfit will sort things out, though – after all, when it’s working, the title is ace.
