There’s a great game in Assassin’s Creed Unity, but it’s obfuscated by bad bugs and glitches. To be fair, Ubisoft is working hard to fix things, and that’s already resulted in one major PlayStation 4 patch. However, upper-management won’t be too worried about the backlash to the game, as it’s outsold the launch numbers of the brilliant Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on the UK sales charts.
Fortunately, this tidbit doesn’t tell the whole tale, as Edward Kenway’s piratical escapade only released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 initially, with many waiting to purchase the next-gen port. The Parisian adventure also didn’t sell well enough to top the charts, with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare rocket boosting above it.
New arrival LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham pointed its spotlight at fifth, one place above FIFA 15 which dropped down into fourth. Assassin’s Creed Rogue did decently in sixth, outselling Minecraft: PlayStation Edition in seventh. Elsewhere, the purportedly top-notch PES 2015: Pro Evolution Soccer entered in eighth, pushing Destiny all the way down into 10th position.
It’s nice to have a bit of movement in the charts, but next week’s going to be the most fun; Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Grand Theft Auto V should all shake things up significantly yet again. Will the excellent Advanced Warfare be able to cling on to its spot at the summit? Honestly, we’re going to say that it hasn’t got a chance – which is quite incredible, really.

And that's why developers/publishers still keep launching unfinished games, they sell no matter how they are, maybe when people learn to wait some days/week before decide buy the games we'll see some improvements on product quality for consumers.
I'd like to say I'm shocked that people went out and bought this crap after what Ubisoft pulled, but that would be a lie.
I'm playing offline, so not how intended, but I'm into sequence 3 with no bugs or frame rate issues. Granted to say, it's one of my favorite assassins creeds so far. I hope they patch it up quickly so everyone can play as intended.
If you didn't buy it in the first couple of days then there is no point buying it anytime soon, it still needs servicing. The idea I think behind unity seems pretty good but I've no idea if its any fun to play more than say black flag which is the only title I've played in the franchise, it was fun but didn't leave me begging for more, certainly not 12 months later. Regardless of its semi broken nature and poor reviews I think people are gonna carry on buying unity if its still a fun experience, the fact that from a distance it looks stunning always helps to shift copies too.
That's the most disappointing part about AC: Unity. It actually seemed to me like it was on track to be one of the better games in the franchise, I don't know about better than 2 or 4 but it definitely had some neat ideas. And then it released in the sorry-a$$ state it's in. The fact the last-gen AC seems to be more well liked speaks volumes to what a terrible job the Unity team did.
@Gamer83 Have you played unity?
@Mrskinner
Nope, and I won't until it's in the used bargain bin and completely fixed. Between Ubisoft holding back the PS4 version because of its marketing deal with MS and what I've heard from friends, I will not be spending $60 on this. Now, I wouldn't mind giving Ubisoft $60 for Far Cry 4 as that at least seems to have had some real work put into it and Far Cry 3 was great. But Watch Dogs and now Unity have hurt the trust factor a bit.
@Gamer83 Hey, each to their own and all that, but I decided to ignore the media uproar and gave it a go anyway as I like AC games. To be honest I am really glad I have, I have found none of the reported glitches happening during my playthrough so far and I am really enjoying the experience. the scale of the game is amazing.
Far Cry 4, can't wait for that too.
@Mrskinner
Well, I don't base my decisions solely on the media, reviews help, but in the end I make up my own mind. I've played games too where I didn't have to deal with a lot of the stuff that was reported but when people are talking about it on a large scale, and my friends who don't get nearly as wrapped up in a lot of this stuff as I do, are b*tching about some of the same things, well, that's enough for me to say no thanks. As for FC 4, I'm just waiting for PushSquare's review and mostly feedback from friends who get to play it.
"we’re going to say that it hasn’t got a chance"
Agreed. If GTA isn't number 1 next week, I will eat my own testicles!
I think this has sold well, because of how good Black Flag was and people pre-ordered before release.
I think the next release will not sell as well due to the well documented issues with Unity.
Certainly will not buy this myself until fully patched and in working order.
GTA V will hopefully kick Advanced Warfare ass and all around it lol
