Sony loves PlayStation 4 bundles in Europe, this much we already know. However, the platform holder has been slightly less forthcoming with premium hardware packages in North America; aside from the Destiny set and the yet-to-be-released Black Friday packs, there’s not been a whole lot to get excited about in the Land of the Free. There is one hardware option that you probably don’t know about, though.
As spotted by NeoGAF user TomShoe, the Military Appreciation bundle – seriously – is a $459.99 set designed specifically for servicemen and women. The big, patriotic package includes a 500GB console, a couple of DualShock 4 controllers, three months of PlayStation Plus, and three download codes for Octodad: Dadliest Catch, TowerFall Ascension, and Divekick: Addition Edition. It also boasts complimentary content for a selection of free-to-play titles.
While that software lineup is already being ridiculed – perhaps rightfully so – we reckon that the whole set is designed around local multiplayer, given the inclusion of the extra controller and all. It’s actually not a bad bundle either, considering that it's tax exempt. Also, you’re not going to get that bad ass box art anywhere else – although we reckon that it probably would have benefited from a tearful eagle somewhere in the upper-left corner.

Whatever man, Divekick is great.
Lol, they actually advertise free to play titles on the box, to be fair though warframe and backlight ain't that bad.
The lineup actually sounds good. My brother-in-law had to sell his copy of Destiny because he couldn't play while on base. Local co-op FTW!
And if they would only start paying enough so the servicemen/women can actually afford them, that'd be great. Sony should make our bundles more expensive, so they can get them for half the price...just for keeping us safe. Then again: I don't even answer the door when I'm gaming, let alone pick up a rifle and start defending my country.
And the choice of games is excellent. Not only do the games feature local mp, could you imagine a bundle with the games Killzone, BF4 and CoD included? Can you imagine the public outcry of Sony and video games desentivizing the war and what not... Nah, just stick to octodad.
If they want to appreciate service men and service women, why not giving them for free? Or just give each base a bunch of them with a big bunch of controllers? That would show appreciation!
The post exchange always had good deals on video games when I was in the Marines. And local co op is a must because you don't have always have access to Internet when they move you around all the time or when deployed on a ship, but local co op is great because you always have a bunch of friends around. Honestly tho we got the best deals abroad when we went to places like Singapore and Thailand. Half of my Gameboy Advance catalog was in Japanese.
@NicolaHayden @Boerewors @Ps4all but they advertise warframe and backlight on the box, both are online multiplayer only, never mind.
@KomrathDE : with you on that one .
:')
@KomrathDE Overseas they do just that(at least they used to). On the us base in Kuwait camp Doha they had a place called uncle frosty' that had a room full of psx(it was the most current system at the time). They also showed free movies and had free fast food.
Sony aren't the only people who make military editions. I remember special edition USMC jack Daniels at the px
