Like a Push Square office party

It’s been a holiday week in the United States, which means that the rest of the world has been watching on with jealousy. Fortunately, now that Saturday has finally arrived, we can all sit down for some good old fashioned gaming. And here to celebrate that fact is a weekly favourite on Push Square we like to affectionately label WAYP. You know the drill by now, so let’s get down to business.

I’m currently playing a game called ‘Try Not to Panic Ahead of PlayStation Experience’, so you’ll find me rocking in a corner trying to motivate myself through the last busy week of the year. Seriously, though, I bought a PlayStation TV, so I’ll be fiddling with that this weekend in order to bring you a review as soon as possible.

Eh? You want me to tell everyone what I'm playing this weekend? I can't believe that you've torn me away from Dragon Age: Inquisition for this. That's right, I'm playing BioWare's latest for the fourth weekend in a row, and to say that it's engrossing would be an understatement. Not even sunny old Los Santos can pull me away from my dear Cassandra – I mean, er, dragons and elves and stuff. Close the door on your way out, would you?

I had been exploring the land of Thedas for a little over 20 hours when one of my trusty companions turned to me with a wistful look in his eyes and said, "So, this is where it begins." It was then that I realised the gargantuan nature of the task that I had perhaps foolishly signed up for when I bought Dragon Age: Inquisition. Who needs weekends anyway?

With my PS4 taking a short trip to get its HDMI port replaced, I'm learning that there is more to gaming than leading an inquisition. While it has ruined my plans for the next few weeks, I'm going to battle the backlog and finally give Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag the time that it deserves.

This weekend, I'll be rejoicing the arrival of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth on the Nintendo 3DS. I've been waiting a long time for a new Persona RPG, and Persona Q provides a nice stop gap until Persona 5 makes an appearance. I'll also be finishing off the Platinum Trophy in Far Cry 4, with only a single, solitary trinket eluding me.

As I wait patiently for episode one of Telltale's Game of Thrones, I think that I want to replay Thomas Was Alone. I've beaten it several times already and love it, but it being released on the PS4 is the perfect excuse for me to tackle it again.

Thanksgiving in the US has unfortunately passed, but it was a glorious day with much food to be had and family to fellowship with. Since this has come to an end, it's time to get back to the grind for one last "hurrah!" as my university finals rapidly approach. Regardless, I'll set aside a moment to play a rented copy of Lords of the Fallen this weekend to see if it's worthy to snatch up later on. I'll also dabble in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's multiplayer once again, and take a special trip through time to play the classic Crash Bandicoot. Why? You'll find out soon!

This weekend I'll be catching up on the big PS4 releases, Far Cry 4 and Grand Theft Auto V. I might also give the puzzle game Thomas Was Alone a go, but I can't see myself having enough time.
