The PlayStation 4 version of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has recently received a totally free downloadable content pack. And yes, you read that correctly – this collection of extras will not cost you a single cent. Entitled 'The Power of Defiance', the bundle includes the Test of Defiance Challenge Mode, as well as the new 'Epic Ruin'.
What's more, the pack features a skin which will allow you to play the entire game as the appropriately lethal Lithariel, if you so desire. Unfortunately, as it currently stands, the extra content has only been confirmed for the new-gen version of the game. Don't fret too much, though, as we suspect that it will also be coming to the PlayStation 3 edition before too long.
Are you still plugging away at Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor? Will this free injection of new content give you a reason to go on? Continue into the west in the comments section below.

Haven't played it yet...having a different character who can only die once seems like a pretty cool change-up for this game.
I thought they had a season pass for this game? Those people that bought one can't be too happy if there is.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis that depends in if this counts. A season pass is typically 3 (paid) DLCs, so if they still get 3 (paid) DLCs plus one free DLC, what is there to complain about?
Any idea when this will be available. It's not on the UK store yet...?
what dodoo said, how about for EU?
This game should be used as principle on how DLC should be for games now on. Some paid and free DLC is the way to go.
Finished this a little while ago, but the DLC may tempt me to return. After I finish Far Cry.
Quit playing this game like 9 new releases ago lol... Perhaps I'll get back to it one day- it just wasn't compelling enough to hold my interest against the backdrop of all these new releases
I still haven't seen the "Power of Defiance" DLC in the store. I did find a free DLC titled "The Power of Shadow" that contained(apparently)the Lathariel skin and The Black Hand skin. Maybe it's titled differently..?
