Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 4

Picture the scene: you’ve just picked up Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 4, and you’re ready to play – but the release’s monstrous day one patch just won’t download. This is what's happening right now, as we’ve just taken our copy of the title for a test drive, and have been confronted with an error labelled ‘CE-32937-4’. It seems that we’re not alone, either.

It’s not a particularly enormous problem – you can still get started with the single player campaign – but it does mean that Grand Theft Auto Online access is locked until the problem is fixed. This is a strange one, because the patch is there – and has been pulled down by many pre-loaders prior to release – but for some reason it just won’t download right now.

There’s no word from Rockstar about how it’s tackling this error yet, but we suspect that the studio will be spending most of its day fighting fires – after all, a separate glitch currently renders it impossible to import your multiplayer characters into the port if you haven’t logged on since 2013. Who’d launch a next-gen video game, huh?

Update: Rockstar has issued an update for this problem: "We are currently addressing this issue with a patch for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 users. This patch is available for download, but may not be available in your region for the next few hours. If you attempt to download the patch and see a 'CE-32937-4' error, please attempt to download the patch again later today. Affected PlayStation®4 players can still log in to Grand Theft Auto Online but will not be able to transfer characters until the fix is in place."
