Batman: Arkham Knight PS4

Here’s a quick public relations lesson for developers: don’t, under any circumstances, use the word ‘parity’ when talking about the different versions of your game. NeoGAF has already hired a lynch mob to take down British studio Rocksteady, as it’s indicated that it’s targeting equality across all versions of upcoming superhero sequel, Batman: Arkham Knight.

“We don't know yet,” a studio representative said when asked tediously about the title’s resolution and framerate. “We're about six months away from going gold, so we don't know what the resolution and the framerate's going to be yet. That's something that happens during the optimisation phase of the game. We're aiming for parity across all platforms.”

In truth, this fairly careless comment could be interpreted in a number of different ways – perhaps, for example, the studio simply wants the game to look equally awesome on all machines. Either way, the company may need to employ the services of a comic book character to clean this mess up; much like Assassin’s Creed Unity, this is a quote that may come back to haunt it.
