We love shooting space marines in the cranium as much as the next gamer, but sometimes we need a little respite. Quickfire Games hopes to serve up just that with Wild Season, an agricultural adventure due out on the PlayStation 4 and Vita in 2015. Inspired by the likes of Harvest Moon, the title will see you assume the role of a down-on-his-luck yeoman, who must nurture a recently purchased plot of land back to good health.
A fusion of farming simulation, visual novel, and role-playing game, you’ll need to coalesce with the curious folk in the nearby village of Bedford Valley in order to make your fortune, meet your true love, and uncover the mysterious secret that the settlement’s hiding. Alright, the artwork looks a little low budget, but if the gameplay’s got plenty of depth to it, we reckon that we could grow to love this farming foray. How about you?

This is top news!
Harvest moon was bloody brilliant and something of the same type is a big plus in my book!
Cant wait!
Interesting. I'm curious to learn more.
Be careful? Soiled. Looks like a nice little game, not sure where I'd find time to bother with it though.
I'll stick to the actual Harvest Moon thank you.
@Jazzer94 is harvest moon still any good? I tried the spin off rune factory and I absolutely hated it. The only two harvest moons I really played were the snes and 64 ones...
Looks cheap,I'll stick with Story of Seasons(Harvest Moon's new name in the west) and Stardew Valley.(An upcoming Indie PC game anyone who's interested in Harvest moon/story of seasons should keep an eye on.)
@Jazzer94 Harvest Moon( Called Farm Story in japan) is now known as Story of Seasons.
The Farm story team is now working with Xseed to translate/Publish the game and Natsume(the previous Publishers of harvest moon games) still owns the rights to the western name Harvest Moon.
So Natsume are now making their own Harvest moon games,but the games from the original Harvest Moon/Farm Story Developers will now be called Story of Seasons.
@ztpayne7
I haven't played all of the recent Harvest Moon games,But from what I've read about them they have been mediocre.Story of seasons is looking promising though.
But if you haven't played the PS1/GBA/PSP game called Harvest Moon: Back To Nature/Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town/Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl (they're all basically the same game) then I'd really suggest you try it out.it's probably the last really good game in the series.
@ztpayne7
it really depends on what your expecting, but yes, they're still good. Some of the DS ones have been a bit iffy though, namely Island of happiness, Sunshine Islands, and Grand Bazaar, but its mainly due to playing with the formula.
As @Ohhaime said thePS1/GBA/PSP games are a good, Back to Nature is pretty much a reboot/spiritual successor to HM64.
If you want a modern one, Magical Melody and Animal Parade are probably the best console games so far. I can't vouch for the recent DS/3DS games though.
Hello there,
I'm Dustin and I am one of the community managers for Quickfire Games! I saw this article and just wanted to read the comments section.
@Jazzer94
You are gonna miss out, your loss.

More info can be found here http://quickfire-games.com/wild-season/
@dustinquickfire Not keen on the art style so I'm perfectly fine skipping this.
I am such a sucker for these types of games. My favorite Haverst Moon games was Save the Homeland on PS2. It would have been nice if Story of Seasons (The new name for the Harvest Moon series) would come to PS4 but I guess it's their lost. I will be checking out this game for sure. I really enjoy games like this just to take a break from ultra serious games like GTA V.
@dustinquickfire: Cheers mate the game looks like it will be a great one.
Sold.
