There’s no doubt that LittleBigPlanet campaigns are always entertaining, but the series’ real longevity comes from its user generated content. Boot up any one of Sackboy’s previous outings – barring, perhaps, black sheep LittleBigPlanet Karting – and we guarantee that you’ll be blown away by some of the levels created by people just like you. As such, it’s no surprise to see the LittleBigPlanet 3 beta already brimming with brilliant ideas.
Currently being tested behind closed doors on the PlayStation 4, the folks over at IGN managed to capture some footage from some of the very best levels so far. As is always the case with the first-party property, the concoctions span several different genres, from arcade shoot-‘em-up through to simulation pinball and 3D platformer. Are you impressed by what you’re seeing here? Do you think that you can do better? Get creative in the comments section below.

i am a HUGE lbp fan. this looks great. i use to do crazy things to achieve top down stuff. always wanted to try my hand at 3d but couldnt wrap my head around the weird glitch tools. SO EXCITED!
Didn't see that much great levels in LBP1 and 2 so far. Most of them were very simple. I hope it will be better in LBP3.
Not that good in developing levels by myself also.
@Kohaku You should take another look. There's some mental stuff in LBP2 these days.
yeah ive played some levels that blew my mind
Amazing Game
@Kohaku - Very simple? You were looking in the wrong places. Not sure what you're into but there was a 7 chapter JRPG that reminded me of the FF PS1 days.
@get2sammyb - Hey Sammy, remember this little exchange we had a couple of weeks ago about the 16 layers -
ME: "Holy #@$$ 16 levels deep? That's not LBP anymore, that's practically open world. Minecraft may finally have competition.
OK, maybe not open world, but you could remake all of SM3DW in here."
YOU: "Who said anything about it being open world? It's still the same level-based format as before, you just have more layers to play with now."
Well after watching that video I'ld say it "can be" closer to SM3DW than the way the 2D platformer on 3 levels in LBP was before. And I did correct myself by saying not open world but open platformer. My kids are gonna love this. I wonder if we can remake the Hyrule Warriors maps?
I really really really hope they figure out a grind mechanic for that rail. Hanging from your hat is cool and all but gotta grind on rails.
That pinball game was ridiculous. I've played a lot of pinball levels in LBP and some were all serviceable for LBP physics engines but nothing looked or played like this.
@rjejr That's my bad. I forgot Super Mario 3D World was 2.5D style - was getting it confused with Super Mario Galaxy. I'm not up on these Nintendo games!
@get2sammyb - Sorry, no more Nintendo game references on PS. Good thing you started your own Sony site and stopped working at the Nintendo one.
After 15 years of Sony gaming I really can't think of a proper comparison, all the Sony games I can think of that are similar - J&D, R&C,Sly - have camera control, and A4O was pulled back pretty far. And no PS4, so no Knack.
Wow now that has impressed me way more than I thought it would. The games people have made just in the beta is amazing I can't wait to see what else these creative people around the world come up with.
Wow. Pretty cool!
I've been looking for hours and can't seem to figure out how to get the '3d' camera view. Any suggestions?
