A little like DriveClub, the upcoming LittleBigPlanet 3 is one of those titles that we want nestling on our PlayStation 4’s hard drive. Sony’s exclusive lineup this year seems built around pickup and play experiences that will have long legs, and Sackboy’s latest errand looks particularly likely to evolve over time if it’s anything like its PlayStation 3 siblings.
Granted, changing discs is a first world problem of the highest order – but we’d rather have the release sitting on our dashboard for whenever we get a hankering for Stephen Fry’s sweet nothings. Fortunately for us, then, it appears that Sumo Digital’s forthcoming release won’t consume a great deal of space, as this box rear indicates that it’ll occupy approximately 14GB.
Alas, this could very well be a mock up yet. As part of its booth at EGX London last week, the manufacturer was making custom covers for anyone that took the time to queue. We’ve cropped out our ugly mugs so that you don’t have to see that, but the information on the back sleeve certainly looks real at least.
Interestingly, it also mentions that the title will be compatible with the PlayStation Move motion controller, which is the first that we’ve heard of that, too. Considering that this functionality was well received in LittleBigPlanet 2, it’s not a surprise to see it a potential bullet point in the sequel, where it would definitely be an appreciated addition.
Of course, as mentioned, this information may not actually be accurate. While the cover does look legitimate, there’s every chance that Sony may have spoofed some of the facts in order to make the cover look convincing. Still, with the game just over a month away, it's certainly possible that these details may have been locked down by now.
Update: As pointed out in the comments, PlayStation Move support will be required for the ambitious backward compatibility that Sony has promised for this version of the game. Still, it's nice to see it in black and white, isn't it?

Couple of things: It's not a PS4 exclusive - it's also coming to PS3. Also, we know is has PS Move compatibility because it's fully backwards-compatible with LBP 2, which had PS Move features.
Your friendly neighbourhood LBP fan.
@Chimpanzee That's actually a very good point on the LBP2 thing, I didn't think of that. I'll add an update on that.
14GB seems huge for the boxed version of the game. I'd expect the full digital version to require 14 gig but not the retail version! O_O
@Chimpanzee It's because all PS4 games install to the hard drive, so the retail/digital versions will be approximately the same size.
@get2sammyb Really?! I knew they all did at least a partial install but I didn't know they had to be fully installed.
@get2sammyb
I get that news/review sites like to refer to themselves in collective terms, but "We’ve cropped out our ugly mug" seems like a bit of a fallacy, don't it?
I'll say it again lack of Vita interaction in LBP3 is Sony's biggest missed opportunity ever...
@Chimpanzee I didn't know games fully installed from the disk either, I thought it was partial....learn something new everyday.
How the hell do I keep forgetting about this game? I love LBP, but I hardly ever hear about this game, and when I do i'm always like "Oh yeah LBP 3 is coming out".
@RaymanFan2 Haha, you never know...
Thanks for the heads up, I've fixed that.
It will increases as Patch with Costume dates releases
PS4 exclusive? Come on!
Can't wait to see what the community will create with the new toys.
@get2sammyb so it basically uses the disc to verify that you own it like a DRM? And all data is on the hard drive?
@Alpha Well, it's not really DRM, it's just checking that you actually own the game. But yeah, the disc doesn't spin while you're playing once it's been installed.
@eLarkos Well it is...
only if you ignore the PS3 version
@get2sammyb Sweet! More used up HDD Space! lol. Im gonna guess its recommended to get a bigger Hard Drive for the PS4 than the one issued? if so what model and size Hard Drive do you suggest? i plan on getting a PS4 soon and i know theres games out there that are like 50GB in size downloadable, and i now know about the games that a disc do the same.... o.o
And when i mentioned DRM, i meant it as the game wont start without the disc at all, so in my opinion it could be a form of DRM, as it needs the disc, so you cant just sell the game but still own it on your PS4. Thank you though for letting me know that tidbit of info! will definitely help in my plan to buy the Console!
