Ubisoft’s gone and put its Bigfoot in it again. The French firm has announced a Season Pass for its upcoming Himalayan first-person shooter Far Cry 4, which will come with a selection of additional missions and objectives for the most ardent adventurers. Costing a pricey £23.99/$29.99, one of the extra tasks will see you take on the Valley of the Yetis – a snowy encounter in which you must off a gaggle of hairy beasts in order to survive.
Your purchase will also see you gain access to The Syringe, an exclusive mission in which you protect a drug recipe from antagonist Pagan Min’s troops, and Escape from Durgesh Prison, which is pretty self explanatory. You’ll also be teaming up with series mainstay Hurk across five explosive side-quests, which will see you add a harpoon gun to your inventory. Lastly, those that stump up will unlock a competitive multiplayer mode named Overrun as well, which tasks you with controlling parts of Kyrat.
There’s no word on when these additions will be made available, though The Syringe will launch alongside the game. Are you willing to spend a little extra on the forthcoming open world affair, or are you tired of these additional money making schemes? i'll be sasquatching out for this
@eliotgballade Me, too. I just hope this isn't just another Abominable money grab from the French publisher!
He thinks hes funny yeti isnt
@baldybill : 'sno(w) joke !
No thanks. I'll be renting this as as soon as I get it I will not be able to put it down, I'll be smashing through this in a week or so. A yeti mission sounds like the coolest part of the game so far, therefore why leave it out... £$€ £$€ also, launch day DLC is a disgrace.
Wow, what a rip-off!
Also am I right in thinking pre-orders come with some of this content anyway? Think the harpoon gun and Hurk missions do...?
@Dodoo Possibly. I know for sure that you can get the Season Pass as part of one of the Collector's Editions.
@get2sammyb Just checked my pre-order with Amazon and it's not the Hurk missions and harpoon gun as I suspected but a "Blood Ruby" mission and silenced pistol...
"receive the exclusive Blood Ruby Pack, including one exclusive single-player mission, "Blood Ruby", and one new weapon, the 1911 Pistol."
So there you have it. Games these days are officially chopped up into pieces and if you want to play all the content you have to jump through hoops to do so, even though you still pay full price for entry! Arse...
As cool as the content sounds, does it really justify that price tag? The games themselves are already expensive enough, I doubt we need stuff that costs a third of the game's price.
Stuff like this gives DLC a bad rep.
Got the game pre-ordered, but won't be bothering with this if the things listed are all it offers. Maybe at £4.99, but at £24 they can shove it.
