Beyond: Two Souls PlayStation 4

Isn’t that just typical? We spend the best part of the afternoon penning an article on the PlayStation 4’s borderline bonkers November lineup, and then an additional unannounced title gets teased. Referenced in an MCV advertisement, which lists all of the retail releases due out on the next-gen machine this year, a separate box hints that there are still secrets to be revealed. Interestingly, this cryptic clue wasn’t included in a similar promotion only two weeks ago.

Exhibit A

Now, the platform holder could be using the ambiguous ‘More to be Announced’ comment as a way to make its lineup look even larger, but we still reckon that an updated version of Beyond: Two Souls is going to wind its way up on store shelves before Christmas. Considering that the title’s Trophies are already visible on the PlayStation Network, we believe that the game’s probably finished, and the format holder hasn’t mentioned it yet because of the re-release backlash that’s been circling its brand of late.

We guess that all will be revealed over the coming days. The company’s cutting it fine if it wants to get this release out before the holiday rush, but it seems that the current trend is to keep quiet until you're weeks away from release. Just look at Grand Theft Auto V’s next-gen port: that only got dated earlier today, and it’s due out in around eight weeks. We remember the days when games used to get unveiled years ahead of their arrival. Times are changing.
