Our good friends over at Family Gamer TV have been kind enough to send over their videos of Minecraft running on the PlayStation 4 and Vita. The game finally released yesterday on Sony's newest console.
If you've been wondering about how Mojang's mega popular title performs, take a look at the seven minute video that we've embedded, which also shows off some split screen action, and looks at how the release handles remote play using the Vita. On top of that, if you're curious about how the game plays on the handheld itself, feel free to take a peek at the second video as well. Have you already grabbed your own copy on PS4? I don't know much about Minecraft, but I'm fairly certain she just said (2nd video) that the worlds in the vita version are smaller than those in the iOS/android versions. Surely that shouldn't be the case?
@SteveButler2210 supposed to be almost identical to ps3 version
@SteveButler2210 It is true the IOS/Android version has infinite worlds now.
So no touch screen controls in the Vita verison? So it might work on PS TV? Would seem like a much better pack in than Lego Movie.
Though somebody mentioned yesterday that PS3version gets you the Vita version for free via x-buy. So I can play Minecraft on PS TV if that counts.
Does anybdy at Pushquare know if all purchased Vita games will work on PS TV (well the ones that work, not the ones that don't work) or will there be another category or game? Even though I don't own a Vita I always "purchase" the PS+ games every month so I have quite a few, at least a couple should work on PS TV if it's allowed to play Vita games.
@rjejr Picked this up yesterday, not sure the touchscreen adds much to the PS4 version either, it takes the place of using the left stick in the build menus - only - as far as I can tell. The left stick is easier to use that the TouchPad.
@McSterls - "The left stick is easier to use that the TouchPad."
I found that to be the case w/ Wonderful 101 (Wii U) as well. You were supposed to draw all these shapes on the screen to make weapons but I just always moved the right stick around, much easier. Did need to touch the screen for items though, never found a button for those.
Thanks for the info
The ps3 and VITA editions are ment to be identical, same size worlds etc
Bought ps4. Love it.
