"At your service"

As part of a Tokyo Game Show presentation to the press, Konami has revealed new footage from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Confirming that the desert isn’t the only section of the game that Kojima Productions has made, this new 20 minute clip shows protagonist Big Boss busting baddies in a thick, jungle environment. As with previous footage, it certainly looks the part.

We’re also introduced to some of the hero’s new gizmos – including a mine which summons a life-size replica of his body. In the video, we see the star using the decoy to do away with two guards, before rendezvousing with underdressed sniper Quiet – and taking on a helicopter with a grenade launcher. According to director Hideo Kojima, the title will release next year.

It’s nice to see that the franchise hasn’t lost its sense of humour, and that there’s more to the release than that one mission that the developer always seems so eager to show. Are you still looking forward to the next edition in this sometimes silly series? Sneak up on us in the comments section below.
