Do you hear that in the distance? We're not exactly sure what it is, but it's probably either the sound of millions rejoicing as Destiny finally enters the Earth's atmosphere, or the sound of the PlayStation Network crumbling like the soggiest biscuit that you can possibly imagine. Either way, next week's going to be a big one, so this weekend may be our last chance to spend some quality time with our beloved consoles before we jet off into space.

Three weeks in, and I'm still charging around Eorzea like a lunatic in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Why am I rushing my latest fetch quests, you ask? [No one asked, but carry on - Ed.] Well, not only are they incredibly boring, but a little game called Destiny is out next week, and so this epic tale has to come to a temporary, but agreeable end.

My incoming weekend is jam-packed with a whole mess of that horrible 'life' stuff, which means I won't have a huge amount of time to play games. However, if I do finagle an hour or two I might give Velocity 2X a quick shot. Word on the street is that it's pretty good.

With my white PS4 landing on Tuesday, it's my final backlog push before the big day. I'm hoping to finally wrap up Murdered: Soul Suspect, but if my hubby finishes with Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, these well laid plans could go out of the window.

This weekend will be spent in a mad dash to get my Demon Hunter to level 70 In Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition. Failure to reach this target by the time Destiny lands next week will likely mean it won't happen until October, as all of my gaming time — when not on review duties — will be spent busting my moves in the Tower.

In the lead up to Destiny, I just don't have a whole lot that I really want to play. I've been playing Metro Redux for about two weeks now, though, and there's still some stuff in there that I haven't gotten around to! Ideally, I'd like to have that completed before Destiny's release!

There's really only one good answer to what are you playing this weekend: Minecraft on the PS4. Yes, I am a bit addicted, but as soon as Mojang's creation makes its way unto the PS Vita, the sooner I can allow it to completely consume my life. [Goes back to mining]

As I eagerly await my copy of Destiny in the next few days, I'll keep on trekking through bits of Mass Effect and Metro Redux over the weekend. If I happen to have some free time, I'd also like to give Velocity 2X a test run, especially since our very own Matt Growcott gave the game a rare 10/10!

Minecraft is finally here for PS4 and Vita, so I will be blocking out the real world for a couple of days. I will also be playing Velocity 2X and having lots of family fun in Sportsfriends. It's gonna be a packed weekend!

That's us taken care of, but what about you? Do you plan on sitting down with a few favourites this weekend, or will you be struggling to finish off a couple of games before Destiny blasts its way into our lives? Let us know in the comments section below.
