With hordes of Japanese warlords marching ever closer to the PlayStation 4, publisher Koei Tecmo has put together a gameplay trailer for Samurai Warriors 4, which focuses on the musou attacks of the game's new characters.
If you're interested in seeing the fresh faces in action, you'll find plenty to like here, but it's the graphical side of things that's really caught our eye. While Sony's newest console is already home to Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, we daresay that this October release looks a fair bit better. Not only are enemy troop animations a real cut above, but the texture work and lighting effects also look as polished as Yukimura's favourite spear. Are you ready to join the march? graphics are good but are the baddies supposed to just stand there to be slaughter? they don't seem to be doing anything
While it's technically impressive - all those characters on screen at once do look detailed - I much prefer the more colorful worlds of Zelda and Dragon Quest.
The vid actually reminds me of why so many peeple dislike these games, there really doesn't seem to be all that much going on. Playing them is always fun though.
Looks sweet
I think this formula could go well with a Kingdom Hearts theme, too. Slicing through waves of Heartless, Nobodies, Dream Eaters, and even some Unversed. Now I am making myself sad... it should have been Kingdom Hearts instead of Dragon Quest, imo...
