Murasaki Baby PS Vita

With last week’s big release Destiny now in orbit, the remainder of the industry clearly thinks that it’s safe to release its wares. This week sees the arrival of a slew of smaller PlayStation titles, with Murasaki Baby probably the pick of a varied bunch. Noteworthy mentions include Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes, which is ready to extract all of the cash from your wallet in Europe this week, as well as the purportedly punchy Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, which is finally due out in North America tomorrow. Let’s get down to business, shall we?

Pick of the Week: Murasaki Baby

Murasaki Baby is one of those PlayStation Vita games that seems to have been on the horizon for an eternity. Announced at Gamescom a couple of years ago, the exclusive title is the brainchild of Shadows of the Damned director Massimo Guarini, and sees you shepherding a frightened child and her balloon through a nightmarish world.

The real appeal of the title is the way that it’s been tailored to Sony’s handheld, using all of the device’s touch inputs – and a few other features to boot. Swiping on the rear touchpad, for example, changes the scene, which then allows you to interact with the world in different ways. It’s certainly weird, but it deserves your attention all the same.
