PlayStation Plus PS4 October 2014

In addition to being one of those pesky months with only 30 days, September's conclusion also happens to fall awkwardly with the usual PlayStation Plus update schedule. Brand new content is usually reserved for the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the month in North America and Europe respectively, but with the 1st October being a Wednesday, it appears that Sony has decided to postpone October's update until the following week in both major territories.

European PlayStation Blog manager Fred Dutton confirmed the news, after being badgered by eager fans. "At present it looks like the next batch of PlayStation Plus games will go live on 8th October [in Europe], so look out for the announcement on or around 1st October," he said. It makes sense, of course, as DriveClub: PS Plus Editionone of the giveaways next month — is also conveniently due out that week, meaning that you'll get everything in one go.

Don't expect Evolution Studios' gorgeous next-gen drive-'em-up to be your only freebie on the PlayStation 4, however, as the platform holder has confirmed that the cutback racer will come in addition to your usual allocation of goodies. This means that you'll also receive two other titles on the manufacturer's record breaking super machine, as well as a further two apiece on the PlayStation 3 and Vita as well. It's going to be a fruitful month for sure; what are you hoping for?
