Resident Evil Revelations 2 PS4

All three people still invested in Resident Evil’s increasingly complicated lore may be excited to learn that the upcoming Resident Evil: Revelations 2 – which was announced for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 last week – will star series legend Claire Redfield, the younger sister of body builder Chris.

The red headed police officer will be accompanied by Moira Burton – the daughter of Barry ‘Jill Sandwich’ Burton – and, like previous mainline instalments, you’ll apparently be able to control both of these characters in co-op. This is according to a story in the latest issue of GamesMaster magazine, which adds that the game will take place between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6.

According to the report, the campaign will begin with the violent vixens awaking in an abandoned island prison. It’s there that they’ll probably run into all kinds of undead threats, including a new type of monster known as the ‘Afflicted’. “[These] may look like zombies, but are in fact something quite different,” producer Michiteru Okabe explained. Your guess is as good as ours.

Despite the co-op format, this title will maintain its predecessor’s penchant for traditional survival horror, meaning that you can expect some slow shuffles through creepy corridors. With the likes of The Last of Us and even Hideo Kojima’s brilliant Silent Hills teaser elevating the spooky genre, though, Capcom’s really got its work cut out if it wants to rule the scary sector of the market again.
