If you thought that continuously walking down P.T.'s single hallway was a treat, you'll likely be chuffed to bits at upcoming PlayStation 4 murder mystery The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. As this recently released gameplay clip demonstrates, the title features multiple hallways, and will even let you explore the outside world. What will they think of next?
In all seriousness, the video shows off the solve-'em-up's distinctive investigative mechanics, which conveniently curb the need to comb every corner of the map for a single key. Instead, you'll be treated to bizarre hallucinations showing you the way to the next point of interest. As far as the game's story is concerned, it appears to be a tantalising mix between the classic TV show Twin Peaks and recent investigative flub Murdered: Soul Suspect.
Hopefully it'll be more like the fantastic former, and less like the lacklustre latter. What do you make of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter? Do you like it's relatively low-key gameplay, or do you prefer non-stop action? Look for clues in the comments section below.

This game looks like it has potential. Nice to see different game mechanics for a change, looks really original.

This game looks like it could be incredible. But I've been hurt before baby.
Loving the Twin Peaks reference! I am just finishing the closing episodes of Season 2!

Not my style of game looks good tho and im sure alot of people will have a great time with this.
I'm one of those weirdoes that actually enjoyed Murdered: Soul Suspect, despite its shortcomings. Looking forward to this. Any release date info yet?
Never mind. Gravelly voice, cliche dialogue, I can live with that. The pointless twist of psychic crap... no thanks. Bring back X Files.
