With every game under the sun seemingly getting delayed into next year, you may be forgiven for assuming that Rockstar Games’ silence with regards to the PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V may speak volumes. Fortunately, as part of its latest financial report, publishing overlord Take Two has reiterated that the re-release is on track for Fall 2014.
There have been copious retailer rumours regarding the sandbox smash’s next-gen deploy date, but a lot of this seems like guesswork. Nevertheless, we wouldn’t be surprised if Sony officially dated the title during its GamesCom 2014 press conference next week – and perhaps unveiled some kind of cheeky hardware bundle in the process. Either way, at least we know that it’s still on track for this year.

Nice to hear, looking forward to playing this again!
I can't wait for this one. I have been having an itch to play this game again but I recently traded in my 360 copy since I plan on getting this one. It will be nice using a PS controller again for a GTA game.
Jesus man, remakes are ok but hurry up with your next project FFS. What about The "Agent "announced years ago........ not happening.
Most people have played GTA5 to death. Already. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Yay!! Great news!!! Happy Happy!! Very much looking forward to this!! Fingers crossed they show more content next week?!?!
@Davros79
The Agent is never coming out. Rockstar's next game will likely be a sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Which would be fine with me.
@Davros79 same here mate, fed up of remakes. Cross gen isn't next gen and that's what I got a ps4 to do, play next gen games. Also untill I see heists I'm staying clear of Gtav. My console wants to be tested by playing next gen games.
@Davros79
I hear you mate. Remakes and cross gen are making our lives miserable at the moment. And of course this will mean the same as it did for our last- gen: it'll last 8 years or so, because developers only started program for it after 2 whole years! We'll be stuck with the ps4 forever. That why I hope the next one will be a modular console where we can all upgrade after 2 years, in 5 years time we'll have $80 hardware.
GTA5 is one of the games where it was clear for me they were doing a ps4 version, so I skipped the ps3 version. I'd rather have a smooth(er) experience a year later, than being able to know what everyone is talking about
Oh good....a retuned re release of a PS3 game is on time. I'll champion indie games all day long but I can't do the same for these re released spruced up last gen games. I can see the point somewhat of PS4 versions of PS3 exclusive games like The Last of Us that some recent adopters of playstation could have missed but GTA5 came out quite recently and across xbox and PS...like most players I lived in the game for quite some time and sank a lot of hours into it...I'll never buy into purchasing a game a 2nd time just for improved graphics, frame rates etc. I want real next gen games and I'll bide my time on indie games and my PS3 backlog till they come.
That's a relief that they haven't dropped the remaster. I just wish they'd announce a release date already.
I dunno why I'm so concerned though, never played the original PS3 version (waiting for price drop to $30 New), and I won't own a PS4 until Christmas 2016.
My PS3 died last spring (Day One edition, so pretty good innings), so I missed out on The Last of Us and GTA V - I was tempted to pickup another one to play them last year, but decided I couldn't spare the money, so very glad to see these being released on PS4 now as gives me a chance to finally play them.
I appreciate I'll be in a minority in this!
