"Man, the shadows look fuzzy here"

The Last of Us Remastered includes the option to toggle between 30 frames-per-second and 60 frames-per-second, with developer Naughty Dog citing personal preference as the reason for the choice. However, it seems that switching between the two modes will also have an impact on visual quality, as when running at 30FPS, the title will boast better shadows.

This difference has now been proven courtesy of a comparison by NeoGAF user MrPink93485, which we’ve embedded in the space below. We suppose that it’s natural that there should be some compromise when adopting the more hardware intensive 60FPS option, but this now provides a dilemma: which framerate are you going to choose?
