"Are you kidding me?"

You didn’t think that we were going to sign off without one final The Last of Us Remastered story, did you? As part of today’s big blowout, Sony has confirmed that there’ll be no discount for existing owners of Naughty Dog’s survival horror opus looking to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version – despite the developer itself indicating that it was exploring the idea earlier in the year.

“Alas, there is no upgrade discount,” blog manager Fred Dutton wrote on the platform holder’s official website. This is obviously disappointing, but it is worth remembering that the release has been reduced ahead of release. In fact, if you’re in the UK, you can currently pre-order the upgraded adventure for less than £30, which is probably the best price in Britain right now.

This is no ordinary re-release either, as it’s been handled internally by the Uncharted outfit. In addition to significantly overhauled visuals, the title also boasts developer commentary, DualShock 4 features, and every piece of downloadable content deployed to date. The question is: are you in – or do you think that the studio’s standing on mighty thin ice? Let us know in the comments section below.
