E3 2014: PS4 Parkour-'em-Up Mirror's Edge 2 Lands with a Stylish Makeover

Back in black

Since its first venture, Mirrors Edge 2 has been on the wish list of many staffers here at Push Square towers – and during EA's press conference, we were given the first juicy details on the free-running action. Heroine Faith returns, with a new minimalistic wardrobe – ditching her bulky bag for a new body belt. Her sleek yet cool design doesn't stop with her appearance, but is also transferring over to her move set. Gone are the days of cumbersome hand-to-hand combat and gun toting action, as her attacks become one with her movement, allowing her to kill and simply move on.

The environments will be receiving an overhaul, too, allowing them to be traversed in different ways. Multiple paths will be made available so experienced players can test out their skills to find the most effective routes, while those less confident in their wall scaling abilities can still continue via a longer path. While not much about the story is revealed so far, we do know a few tidbits. It aims to revolve more around the protagonist and her backstory, including who she is and why she became a runner. If you're wanting to see more parkour action, check out the trailer below.

>Spend whole trailer talking about the character design
>Character is in a First person game where we'll never see her design outside of promptly-skipped cutscenes.

@CanisWolfred : reminds me of tv commercials where they put gazillions of half naked pin-ups joyfully choosing their life insurance provider.
